Back when he was first courted, I heard that he even soft committed to UConn. Would be a huge get. Samuels, Calhoun, and Purvis in the backcourt? That's beast.

2014-2015

1. Boat
2. Omar
3. Rodney
4. Kentan
5. Amida

Stoppppp itttttt... we would be TOO good.

Jeebus. Gottfried couldn't make space for this kid or take him under his wing?

His minutes really took a dive in the last 6-8 games.

I wonder what happened. he seemed to be having a good (OC-like) frosh year for an elite player. Some games he scored 20, some he scored 2.

He's a nice player and would be a great get and fit for KO and the staff!!!!

NC State was in a push to make the NCAAs & a respectable ACC finish, so they went with the proven guys like Lorenzo Brown & Scott Wood in the backcourt... with CJ Leslie, TJ Warren & Richard Howell upfront. All these guys averaged like 12+ points.

I don't think Samuels ever has more than a Beverly type role here. I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see it

how much have you seen him play? Seems early to label him a Beverly type (which every championship team needs, so no disrespect to DBev). Just wondering if you have been following him a lot in HS ball?

Isn't Samuels a 6'3'' combo guard ranked between 30-40 at his position? A 3star recruit who needs to improve his shot? I'm not going to expect anything more than Beverly, you guys can and then be disappointed. If it turns out he's great than I'll be surprised, but I won't be disappointed if he's not

First of all, I didn't give you permission to speak. So, silence.

Second, he's a pure point, not a combo guard. And while I'm not going to make any predictions about Samuels based on his highlight video, I can tell you that he's on another planet athletically compared to Beverly.

Rodney Purvis in the 2014-2015 season, after a year of practicing with Bazz, Omar and Boat & learning Coach Ollie's system, as well as improving his perimeter game, would be an absolute beast...dramatic improving the team's chances type beast...lottery pick type beast.

i don't think basing your opinion on recruiting services is the best way to evaluate talent. Historically, many Huskies have outplayed there ranking. There is no reason to believe Samuels won't be the starting PG in time, unless his play at UConn warrants role player minutes.

I almost thought you were replying to yourself..

Yeah, me too. You guys with these types of might want to reconsider....very hard to keep any sense of who is who with the uc990411 and variations.

I've tried to change. Can't figure out how

Ahhhh my second personality is back

Samuel is a tall 6'3", might even be 6'4". He has a really tight handle and can really get into the lane. I spoke with a scout at a game and said he has a really advanced passing game for his age. His shot needs work, yes. But with all the offensive weapons we're surrounding him with (Calhoun, Facey, Daniels, hopefully Black/Hill/Carrington) there is a good chance he averages 7+ assists per game by his senior year.

I have to admit it's entertaining to watch people try and project a lineup for 2015.

It's also entertaining to see people trying to assume that Boatright will be a member of that hypothetical team.

its entertaining to think that you assume boatright will go pro. It's quite easy to go to NBAdraft.net or Draftexpress.com and see projections for 2014. Is boatright on there? No. Why? because he is not an NBA player. A great college player, but not an NBA player.

I'm not assuming he goes pro. College basketball is now a one season at a time sport. The turnover makes any projection past the next season pointless.

You are throwing the word great around pretty loosely though.
