Memphis could basically become like having Kentucky in the AAC.

Let's see if Penny can coach these dudes though.
Recruiting becomes a lot less fluid when you have Nike behind you. As long as Penny is there, expect big time recruits to follow.

Achuiwa would give Memphis the top ranked class in the country across all sites.

Wouldn't be the worst thing for us. Rising tide raises all ships. SEC definitely has gotten stronger, could probably be attributed a lot to Calipari's success

now that I’m actually committed, I’m going to try to get Precious and Boogie. Those are the two guys I’m going to go after.”

Well, at least that means it's not already a done deal.

Also says that Precious will announce at the end of the month so the madness is almost over. I’ll say it again, if it’s not UConn I wouldn’t mind seeing him at Memphis. Memphis being good boosts the AAC’s profile and it could develop into a future rivalry.

I’m not afraid of Memphis, IF we land one more really good 6’3” plus guard/forward and a serviceable big. We’ve got a decent mix of guys working for us. While I don’t prefer to have a Polley or Wilson over a huge name 5*, I think we can work with them at this point to beat a team of skilled freshmen. We’ve got to improve our physically talented players this off season and come back tough and determined.

I would pump your brakes before calling them Kentucky. Let's see how penny recruits when he doesn't have a local kid as the best player in the class in his pocket.

I think its more complex than that. A lot of these guys are drawn to Mike Miller too. They are successfully selling their ability to get these guys NBA ready.

Something most of us thought KO would be able to do, but for whatever the reason, he was not able to recruit at a high level even after winning a National Championship.

I think I saw somewhere that Lester is their first recruit without ties to the city of Memphis. I'm of the opinion that if Memphis is the real deal it could be very good for us but I'll be sold on Penny the recruiter if he can reproduce this class in 2020.
