This will be all academic when Colorado decides to bolt and Arizona plus follow.
Finally someone who gets itThe difference between Hartford and Pittsburgh is that the latter lies west of the Hudson River -- terra incognita. Everyone in Connecticut knows that the river marks the edge of the known world, and that beyond its waters, there's no there there. It's flyover country, featureless, non-existent, a void populated by cows and fanciful serpents, a place to be avoided. Connecticut, after all, is the center of the universe.
That would be nice ...but didn't we cut a bunch of sports because of athletic deficit?maybe also bring back swimming and diving, add men's rowing, and improve funding for sailing
This is how those who live in parts of Connecticut that are in the NYC demographic view things. The remainder of the state believes civilization ends at the NY border. The difference between Hartford and Pittsburgh is that the latter lies west of the Hudson River -- terra incognita. ->As SI reported in a story published May 15, the Big 12 is also targeting another basketball power out East: five-time national champion UConn. A pairing of the two would give the league dominant hoops programs on either coast.<-
He's good. On the other hand, it's easy to be dangerous when you can travel at will without a call. This is patheticMeanwhile, will somebody on the Celtics please treat Caleb Martin like the most dangerous scorer for Miami? He clearly is.
The backup plan is to sit tight: stay in the Big East and reevaluate as circumstances evolve in the Big12 and ACC. The revenue gap widens in the interim, but the state of Connecticut will apparently cover it.UConn better have a back up plan just in case lot of Pac12 schools want to join B12
They don't cover it now. Are you saying they'll cover it in the future? The backup plan is to sit tight: stay in the Big East and reevaluate as circumstances evolve in the Big12 and ACC. The revenue gap widens in the interim, but the state of Connecticut will apparently cover it.
Backup plan is to just sit tight and “monitor” the situation and maybe beg the acc even though they rejected us gazillion times already. sighThe backup plan is to sit tight: stay in the Big East and reevaluate as circumstances evolve in the Big12 and ACC. Internal subsidies from a state institution imply higher student fees/tuition, and/or monies from the state. But state funding has a ceiling, and CT may not be able to participate in a college sports arms race without P5 revenues. They don't cover it now. Are you saying they'll cover it in the future?
It’s been weeks and you haven’t learned a thing.AAC 2.0
Exactly like the AAC, I mean, if the AAC had the two prior men's basketball national champions in it, and were emphasizing being a basketball power in addition to being football P5 conference and were, you know, going to pay us $51 million a year…AAC 2.0
It’s a life raft.Exactly like the AAC, I mean, if the AAC had the two prior men's basketball national champions in it, and were emphasizing being a basketball power in addition to being football P5 conference and were, you know, going to pay us $51 million a year…
Come to think of it it really isn't like the American at all is it?
We're in the back up plan.UConn better have a back up plan just in case lot of Pac12 schools want to join B12
Back in 2014 we had people on here claiming the AAC was a great conference with history too. It’s been weeks and you haven’t learned a thing.
