1) How bad was USC last year? They were like 2-17 after 1/1. Enfield will go down as one of the worst hires in the history of the world.

2) Byron Wesley is interesting - you can always find a spot for kids who can play.

Wesley's definitely talented. I think he may have been the number one player out of CA when he was being recruited. I was referencing the value of Kromah's experience and leadership on the floor, which often translated into baskets. This was especially true when either Shabazz or Boat was on the bench. Balancing our young talent with a guy like that would be a good thing. Although, if Izzo or Gonzaga offers Wesley a primary role on the team, he likely goes there. I don't see KO making any guarantees. His players know they need to earn their spot.

Far too early to make that claim. FGCU made their conference tournament final with Enfild's players and lost to a Mercer team that beat up on Duke. Even the best chefs need good ingredients. Enfield didn't recruit USC's 2014 freshmen. This year is his first recruiting class.

A Byron Wesley or Justin Martin have to think with DD doing there is a spot for their games here and at least they have a chance to pull a "Kromah" here!:D

Maybe those trying to get out of LOI's because of coaching changes but I doubt there's a JUCO left who could help at all…….unless of course Johnnie Selvie JR is out there?

I don't want a Juco, nor do I think Ollie wants one.

I think going with a 5th year senior is the best way to go. That would meet an immediate need while preserving a scholarship for the 2015 recruiting class.

If they can't land one then go with who they have and save that ship for 2015. KO seems to be killin it with that class, so it makes sense to have as many scholarships available for that class.

That one never really made sense to me. I just don't see where another wing, even one as good as Wesley, fits on this roster.

Trust me we don't want Simmons. We go after guys with a lot more heart than him.

He put up numbers in the couple of games they had against real teams. He would, at the very least, provide some decent insurance in the frontcourt. I'm sure he'd rather go somewhere he's got a sure shot to start, though.
 
Here's this thread! I tried to find it yesterday and couldn't. I posted this in a different thread, but it fits better here.

For the sake of discussion, I went through and put together a list of all of the transfers on the Goodman list who are graduating this year (meaning they're eligible to play immediately) and who have not yet chosen a school. I'm curious to see which guys people would be interested in adding to the roster for next season.

Martin and Campbell would be the best additions, but there are indications that neither has the grades for our grad program. At this point, given our current personnel, I'd go after anyone who could provide credible frontcourt depth. Zech Smith could be an option. He's not a star, or even an average player, but as a third center, he could probably block some shots and rebound a little, and he's not an embarrassment on offense. He's too inconsistent and foul prone to be reliable, but in limited minutes, he could be functional, which might be the best we can do at this point.

I also don't hate Tarwater. His offense is a kind of a mess, but he rebounds and defends reasonably well for an undersized PF. And given than he's graduating from Cornell, he probably doesn't pose any academic problems.

The common thread from Evans through Kromah is that the coaching staff knew them. They knew chemistry would be enhanced with these players maturity & skills set. I think UConn will rarely bring in one of these New Age Free Agent graduate students unless there's a strong comfort level.
