Possible 5th-Year Transfers

Wesley a very good player, but I have to think Michigan State is going to be more appealing to him. He can slide right into Harris' spot in the lineup and role in the offense. He'd have too many guys to play through here.

This was just tweeted about possible transfer from USC

#UConn is interested in former #USC guard Byron Wesley, who will transfer to a new school next year

Would be an awesome player at 17 ppg but where would he fit in? He's a SF at 6'5". He knows Dan Hurley is coming to UConn and I imagine he would choose MSU or Zags cuz of it. He is looking to start and make a big impact. Not looking to compete for a spot. But if KO is looking at him I trust he has a plan.

Maybe KO sees him providing Kromah-like experience on the floor. Aside from Boat, we'll have a relatively young team next year and since he fits the profile of many of our young players you can work him in and out easy.

seems as if all of the top 5th year guys are wings and guards, unfortunately the best big man played in our own conference, Anthony Lee who transferred fron Temple to Ohio St. it would be cool if one of these guys could stretch all the way out to the 4 like Giffey but it remains to be seen if they're (1)capable of doing it without losing much of anything on the boards or in post D like we were able to do with Giffey or (2)willing to do it without griping about playing the 4.

He's a much, much better player than Kromah. He wants to go somewhere that he'll be featured.

Look at where these guys have been playing. Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. Rhett sounds like he could be a good stop gap and fairly productive. He fills a need. I trust the staff to find the kid that could play at our level

As crowded as we are at the wing, I don't think KO would have any trouble finding room for a guy that just put up 18 and 6 in a BCS conference.

Horford stinks, if you can't develop into anything after 4 years in a program known for its player development like Michigan under Beilein then I'm not sure there is any talent that can be pulled out of you.
Horford's going to UF with Donovan. We will definitely get more than the 4 and 4 that he gave Michigan last year out of Facey next year

Bingo. He'd be on the floor with DHam.

1) How bad was USC last year? They were like 2-17 after 1/1. Enfield will go down as one of the worst hires in the history of the world.

2) Byron Wesley is interesting - you can always find a spot for kids who can play.

Wesley's definitely talented. I think he may have been the number one player out of CA when he was being recruited. I was referencing the value of Kromah's experience and leadership on the floor, which often translated into baskets. This was especially true when either Shabazz or Boat was on the bench. Balancing our young talent with a guy like that would be a good thing. Although, if Izzo or Gonzaga offers Wesley a primary role on the team, he likely goes there. I don't see KO making any guarantees. His players know they need to earn their spot.

His wife doesn't think so

Far too early to make that claim. FGCU made their conference tournament final with Enfild's players and lost to a Mercer team that beat up on Duke. Even the best chefs need good ingredients. Enfield didn't recruit USC's 2014 freshmen. This year is his first recruiting class.

Any word on Justin Martin?

A Byron Wesley or Justin Martin have to think with DD doing there is a spot for their games here and at least they have a chance to pull a "Kromah" here!:D

Any H.S. seniors, Juco players left?

Maybe those trying to get out of LOI's because of coaching changes but I doubt there's a JUCO left who could help at all…….unless of course Johnnie Selvie JR is out there?

I don't want a Juco, nor do I think Ollie wants one.

I think going with a 5th year senior is the best way to go. That would meet an immediate need while preserving a scholarship for the 2015 recruiting class.

If they can't land one then go with who they have and save that ship for 2015. KO seems to be killin it with that class, so it makes sense to have as many scholarships available for that class.
