Allie and Q both suffer purely from a numbers issue.I wouldn’t mind seeing Allie start.
Maybe she will sit in the seat to CD's right all game to help coach the team...has this ever happened????Coach Paige the next few games .. nice I hope she drives Geno crazy on the sidelines lol
Curious why you would like to see that happenI wouldn’t mind seeing Allie start.
No, that’s not correct. Whether you’re playing against practice players or cupcakes, every time a team takes the floor, there is something positive you can learn and accomplish. More specifically, UConn will play an entire game without their best player. Geno is looking to see who steps up in her absence. At the same time he’s looking for Jana & Ice to continue to develop their post games.Xavier is the worst team in a P5 conference. The only thing learned from this game would be something negative.
My daughter lives in Arlington and she says there was already some snow. Is there more coming? The embassy where she works already closed Monday and Tuesday.Unfortunately, I won't be seeing Paige play on Saturday at Georgetown by all indications. That is if the game is even played as there is a potential snow storm in the forecast for Saturday and snow and DC do not do well together.
Out of curiosity, what is considered too much snow in DC? Would it be like Vancouver, British Columbia where a few inches (e.g. 3-5) causes a lot of problems?Unfortunately, I won't be seeing Paige play on Saturday at Georgetown by all indications. They usually shut down everything when a wintry mix is in the forecast. I lived in the DC suburbs from 1978 to 2005 and any snow on the ground was a disaster. However, many years in that time, there were snow storms that left many inches of snow and sometimes even a foot or more.Out of curiosity, what is considered too much snow in DC? I used to live in Northern VA. 2 inches of snow can shut everything down.Out of curiosity, what is considered too much snow in DC? Would it be like Vancouver, British Columbia where a few inches (e.g. 3-5) causes a lot of problems?

Thanks for the insight. It sounds very similar to Vancouver which is a little surprising to me.I used to live in Northern VA. 2 inches of snow can shut everything down.

DC lacks the snow clearing equipment to manage snow. Plus, lots of drivers in that area don't have a lot of experience driving in icy conditions. I don't know what Vancouver's excuse is, though. Thanks for the insight. It sounds very similar to Vancouver which is a little surprising to me.
I lived in DC for about 16 years and almost any amount of snow is problematic. For multiple reasons. They don't have the equipment like other locals and typically snow in DC is never just snow. It usually comes in combination with multiple precipitation types during the event which causes more drama.Out of curiosity, what is considered too much snow in DC? It is a destiny year! These are all bumps in the road that leads to #12.Geno never says the kind of things he said after the game re: her status. This may be a destiny year. Time for Azzi to bombard xavier. Get that stroke back
It's Ash. It was announced. I am more interested in Azzi. So, whoever takes her place in the starting lineup will have a big opportunity to shine.
Geno was saying she wasn't aggressive enough in practice, just like high school, and maybe a start would shake things up for her. They're all too deferential.Curious why you would like to see that happen
It is very good news, given the ugliness of that injury. But AZZI missed three weeks. Paige will miss January.Per Geno’s press briefing today, Paige has a knee sprain, similar to Azzi’s injury earlier this year. There is no tear. She’ll sit out a game or two and he expects her back in a week or so.
Sigh of relief from UConn WBB fans everywhere……
AZZI will start at shooting guard, Chen at the point, Sarah at forward, Jana in the middle and ASH at smalll forward. This is my prediction. Not official. It's Ash. It was announced. I am more interested in Azzi.
Paige can be seen doing two knee bends which were super reassuring. That video was AWESOME! You can really see Jana's personality shining, I've never seen Ice nor Sarah so animated, and it was great seeing the entire team having fun. Especially loved seeing Carol in the middle of something mixing it up!
Great news on Paige - the silver lining is that Ash should be back to starting, and lots more PT for Morgan and maybe Allie. Hopefully for Q as well, but she seems to be last on the depth chart, and I'm not sure there's much she can do this season to break into the rotation. Allie on the other hand - right on the cusp... maybe a few good games from her will give Geno even more weapons...
Geno's remarks in the pre-game presser yesterday on this topic were really funny. He said the kids all arrive full of confidence that freshman year will be just a seamless transition from senior year in high school. And then they see what's involved in really participating at this level and confidence goes out the window. All their friends and family complain that they don't get enough minutes and they're thinking it's just fine to nibble at the edge of the rotation. The next few months the coaches work at reminding them that they were recruited for a reason and building them back up.Geno was saying she wasn't aggressive enough in practice, just like high school, and maybe a start would shake things up for her. They're all too deferential.
They have the same issues. The Lower Mainland doesn't get hit with snow other areas of the province get.DC lacks the snow clearing equipment to manage snow. Plus, lots of drivers in that area don't have a lot of experience driving in icy conditions. I don't know what Vancouver's excuse is, though.
We’ll see. But thank you doctor for your medical opinion. It is very good news, given the ugliness of that injury. But AZZI missed three weeks. Paige will miss January.
Why, BBallF? Ash is a healthy sophomore who has contributed a lot in a season and a half. She is much more likely to be there for the team down the stretch than Azzi, who continues to misfire even when she is playing. It's Ash. It was announced. I am more interested in Azzi.
I think you haven’t been watching the same games I have. Azzi hasn’t “misfired.” She hasn’t scored a ton, but her defense has been excellent, at least as good as what Ash is doing. I’m not sure what @BBallF is hoping for, but I’m hoping to see Azzi go off for 20+ pts. She has it in her and this may be the moment we get the full Azzi. And just a reminder, Azzi firing on all cylinders — the Azzi we saw two years ago is significantly more formidable than Ash is right now. Why, BBallF?
