The Oregon - Northwestern game scheduled for tonight has been cancelled due to positive test(s) within the Northwestern program.
Are we heading down the “damaged season” road again? No bueno…The Oregon - Northwestern game scheduled for tonight has been cancelled due to positive test(s) within the Northwestern program.
I'm afraid we are but if we win tonight we’re hanging another dadgum bannerAre we heading down the “damaged season” road again? No bueno…
Permanently and likely forever.I'm afraid we are.
"Long way" is an understatement! But I worry that Oregon will not be ready for the Stanford defense on Friday--maybe for the return match-up in Eugene--but, with Paopao, Sabally, and Rogers only just back (and the first two playing limited minutes), it's asking a lot for the team to really play like a team right away. On the other hand, Oregon did play Stanford tough last year (and could easily/should have won in Eugene) so . . . .Meanwhile, the ladies of Cal had their game against Washington canceled and suffered a loss to Washington State. Keep in mind, Cal did not have the services of one Jayda Curry but still a loss is a loss.
Oregon is getting their players back. Paopao and Sabally getting their groove back. They play Stanford Friday. Should be an interesting and great test for Oregon. Stanford has already been tested. Now we get to see what Oregon does. I really like this program and what Coach Graves is doing with the program. They have come along way from Coach Paul Westhead & Coach Bev Smith days. That is for sure!
Great point about the Stanford game this Friday. That return matchup should be a nice one. Looking forward to the game on Friday."Long way" is an understatement! And those teams are?Only 2 x PAC-12 Teams in the current AP TOP 25. Two questions:
1. How many PAC-12 Teams will be in TOP 25 after the PAC-12 Tournament completes this season?
2. How many PAC-12 Teams make the NCAA Tournament this season?
My answer is: 3 x PAC-12 Teams in TOP 25 & 5 x PAC-12 Teams make the tournament
And those teams are?
So 38 miles away at CAL it is business as usual? Too bad for the home teamStanford just announced they are restricting attendance to only student-athlete's family for indoor sporting events.
It remains to be seen whether this directive comes from Stanford or Santa Clara County AFAIK.So 38 miles away at CAL it is business as usual? Too bad for the home team
TOP 25: Stanford, AZ, UOAnd those teams are?
Glad to see three Friday night PAC games were played
Colorado has only played 3 top-100 opponents, and none of them currently project as NCAAT teams. The other nine games they won might as well have been canceled because they're just fluff, completely worthless resume-wise. Not to mention that their schedule thus far has been extremely home-heavy.Colorado takes a step closer to the tourney. A win over USC is always a good thing.
Plus half of Washington's starting lineup.Colorado should make the tournament. They were a WNIT team last year and and they returned everybody.
After watching Arizona get waxed by USC Trojans, there is no question that UO is 2nd best team (at this moment) in PAC-12. Amazing that Colorado is the only undefeated team in the county! Congrats to Colorado.Three home games coming up… the Arizonas and UConn. Time to climb back into the tourney discussion.
Waxed? Arizona had a lead well into Q4. Miura got hot and hit some 3's at the end of the game, but this went back and forth most of the 2nd half. After watching Arizona get waxed by USC Trojans, there is no question that UO is 2nd best team (at this moment) in PAC-12. Yes, given AZ's #4 ranking, waxed. AZ didn't play like a championship caliber team down the stretch. And they were playing USCWaxed? Arizona had a lead well into Q4. Miura got hot and hit some 3's at the end of the game, but this went back and forth most of the 2nd half.
Honestly USC has more talent on paper than Arizona does. I just don't agree w/ your summary of this game as a waxing. Doesn't fit.Yes, given AZ's #4 ranking, waxed. AZ didn't play like a championship caliber team down the stretch. And they were playing USC
I wondered if the fact that Shaina Pellington was missing was a factor (I didn't see the game, but did glance at a box score). That's 2 games in a row. I don't think Ware played either? The paper said she was day to day recovering from her injury, Pellington's issue isn't disclosed but I assume it could be Covid. Adia and most of her family had it, among others. In fairness to Arizona, they just rescheduled that game on Wednesday and hit the road after a Friday evening home game against WSU, and it's their second game in almost 4 weeks. U$C has a ton of talent if they can ever get healthy and organized (which they finally seem to be doing), and the Sun Devils were within one possession until the last 2 minutes of the game. This is not, in my mind, as bad a loss as it looks on paper. That said, I was really giving Arizona the benefit of the doubt despite some skepticism, and they're not getting it anymore going forward...
