Our Next Tight Game

Running the table would be a prolific feat. All it takes is one team having a great day and us being off. But, the stars seem aligned.

I’ve heard a lot of talk about a few teams somehow getting a W against them without any specifics. It’s easy to be somewhat right that way, but who exactly is the star player from any of these teams who’s going to emerge to take them down? Name one.
They all know by now the domino effect that’s about to take place and they’re all scared S less.

Butler certainly won’t be any louder than Florida. You think they’re much better?

Do disrespect to Butler but we haven’t had a moment of doubt in a single game yet, against much better teams

In itself, that's nothing that can't be accommodated and absorbed into the flow of this community. However, you have already displayed an argumentative self-certainty in areas where you lack knowledge that others have, and you have combined this with a combative or disinterested stance toward others' efforts to inform and help you.

Before we lock threads for going off the rails can we start a new tradition of added a count of how many fights took place between people that started joined the 'yard in the last month and people with accounts from over a decade ago.

It'd be an interesting metric to follow throughout this exciting season!

Butler has much better fans than Florida in general (football front-runner fans), historic building with better atmosphere. Florida didn't even sell out against a top 5 team.

Also Saturday night vs. Wednesday night (which may have had something to do with lack of sell out). Should have some loud, inebriated Indianans.

And we're more established now as juggernauts this week than last week.

In a year like this, new interest in UConn basketball will be sparked. Veteran posters can be welcoming and generous in helping newcomers onboard to this special place. It's prudent to recognize that not everybody who signs up and posts is a fan or friend of the program.

I look forward to your return here in April to say, "I told you so," if the team completes its season undefeated. I'll be grateful for your contribution to the mojo and my enjoyment of having watched it one game at a time.

I'd say it's more than no team's performance is uniform across the season and even the best UConn teams have lost games they should not have.

Okay but I’m just not seeing why people are circling the Butler game in particular as some scary game. I’m not sure people are appreciating just how dominant we have been. Maybe I’m just seeing too much 2009 in this team

Because it’s not a simulation? It’s a road game in a hostile environment against a game, well-coached team. Maybe they will in fact blow them out but I have a harder time understanding the people who can’t fathom that this might be a tough game.

Because good even dominant teams can lose games. Typically conference opponents are another level in terms of competition.

this is a great tune. when i came here, i posted it a few times and noticed that it had only a few million hits. now, its way past 50 million. looks like the world caught up. twas ever thus.

I’m on board. Easy to say they’ll get a loss or two and probable. But I’m estimating undefeated through the rest of the regular season unless we start piling on injuries.
