Apologies for the hot take, but I don’t think this is cool on UConn’s part. Gotta call off the dogs earlier, it is akin to stealing a base up 10 runs or throwing bombs up 4 touchdowns there should be greater sportsmanship if unevenly matched.

Some weird numbers obviously, but UConn scored more in the first quarter (55) than St. Francis did for the game (52). St. F took 57 threes and only 24 twos. UConn had 38 assists on 59 shots and a whopping 69 rebounds.

I understand part of what makes UConn women so successful is that attitude and always playing that way, it’s just not for me. Neither my fan or competitive ethos gets it. But that also means I choose not to know enough about them to offer understanding beyond 2 cents.

Since no one is going to get hurt you coach your team and I’ll coach mine. 50, 60, 70, 90 who cares.

Nobody forced SF(PA) to play like Loyola Marymount or the Citadel.

I felt necessary to say because so much of convo about Geno and women comes from similar positions.

I wish geno played his bench more in the regular season just for preventative maintenance (read save legs and prevent injuries) and to get the young kids more on court experience, but you have to respect how his methods have worked.
