Why?Bwahahahahahahaha, most Cleveland Browns thing ever.

Barkley is gonna bring back visions of rookie year Todd Gurley if he's a Giant. He'll get murdered behind that line
I didn't think they'd do it, but there's a semi-realistic scenario where it makes sense to draft Mayfield #1 if they really want Barkley.
This is assuming they have 2 QBs similarly rated at the top. And all hypothetical because who knows whether the public releases are accurate.
So you know the Browns like Darnold/Mayfield. You know the Jets are taking a QB at 3, Mayfield or Rosen. You know the Giants only like Darnold and Barkley.
Taking Darnold means the Giants take Barkley and the Jets take Rosen. Now you miss out on Barkley. But taking Mayfield now means you get Barkley at 4 because the Giants get Darnold and the Jets get Rosen
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSNYG commit to Eli. Pick Barkley.
Because I don't think he'll be any good.Why?

God I hope the Jets draft Rosen.
The Brees/Wilson comparisons are so tired. I'm not blaming you, it's all over the place. Brees is the most accurate passer ever and Mayfield isn't in Wilson's stratosphere as an athlete. Not even getting into the upstairs stuff.Might sound weird, but If you want your guy, you have to take a QB #1. And if you want the best QB, you take Mayfield imo. He completes more balls at all (short/medium/long) levels.
If he was 6'4 he'd be the runaway number 1 pick in the draft. I don't think his height will hurt him, a la Brees, Wilson. Not saying he'll be on their levels mind you.
Damn.

There's at least a 50-50 chance that Eli is cooked. If the Giants don't take Darnold at #2 I may drive down and punch the GM in the nuts myself . . .
A whole bunch of reasons. I don't like his arm strength, he lit up terrible Big 12 defenses, I think he needs to roll out a lot to really make things happen and I don't think he's much of an athlete. I also think he's a shmuck and has a great chance of blowing up when things go horribly in Cleveland, which they will. I'm actually shocked he was even considered a #1 pick. What's your rationale?
I hated all the QBs so we may look back in a few years and not feel so bad about it. I like Webb tooHopping in the car now . . .
Am I the only one who loves Baker Mayfield to the Browns? I hope he kills it
Lamar Jackson is the best QB in the draft don't @ meI don’t get the opinion that his was somehow a weak QB draft . . .
You that worried about a guy who was super erratic at USC last year?

Barkley is the best player in the draft. can't hate it too much. I hope Davis Webb is the real deal.
It was kind of a weird draft to have the number 1 pick. Again, I think Baker's the best QB out there, but at the same time, I don't like this class at all. Most will be duds.
So he's probably picked too high, but I'd say that about any of the QBs (1 will probably turn out to be great...the rest, meh).
The right choice for the Brown's might have been to trade the pick.
I'm trying to hold off on my hate for the pick until I see if they get Jackson or Rudolph. I'd love the draft if that happensI'm happy with the pick. I think Barkley's a stud.
All the QBs have warts. Heck, Lamar Jackson could be the best of the bunch.
Lamar Jackson has the best feet in the pocket out of any qb in the draft. I think he's going to be goodI'm happy with the pick. I think Barkley's a stud.
