OT Myles Garrett

It’s the nfl. They always bend to public sentiment. Rudolph is a clown. Garret shud definitely get a few Games for sure but I heard Rudolph kicked him in the balls like a little b*^%#. Not condoning the helmet thing but in heat of moment cud see how guys wud snap sometimes. Media making it out to be like he murdered someone. Even after garret fell to ground he didn’t even fight back like he realized immediately he effed up. People calling fir a lifetime ban. Lol.
“I heard...” You should go testify before Shiff’s kangaroo court.

The sad part about this entire affair is that the NFL owners are licking their chops because of the publicity and knowing that it will only serve to increase the number of viewers.

Now your taking it too far, I was keeping it at a level of sports, guess what whether people like to admit it or not there is violence in football it is ugly, and always will be. Fights like this used to occur at training camps all the time, of course I dont condone what Garrett did and he should have a lengthy suspension.
First, I did not interpret what you wrote in that context. Secondly, I played boo\th in high school and college and not once, in practice or games did I ever see a player remove his helmet and strike another player with it. About the worse I ever saw was some of the guys would take the ball and throw it at someone out of frustration (and sometimes it was one of us). No harm, no foul. Go Huskies:):):)

In the video shots of the incident it doesn’t look as much as kicking him purposefully in the nuts but more like a guy on his back in MMA defending himself with his feet. Either way I think Rudolph probably should have gotten 1 game. He obviously wasn’t innocent in the whole melee but Garrett got exactly what he deserved.

Oh I agree. Garrett maybe even is getting off light. But Garrett’s reaction shouldn’t excuse Rudolph’s, though it apparently has.

You can’t suspend Rudolph here. You’d have to suspend players every week for scrums if you did. These types of scrums happen regularly in nearly every game. There was a skirmish in the Lions Bears game last week where players were kicking and grabbing each other by the helmet and there wasn’t even a flag thrown.

Everything was just a typical football fight until Garrett snapped. Nothing landed and no one was hurt. Garrett took it to an unprecedented level. That is why he was treated the most harshly.

If Mason Rudolph did this stick a fork in him, if Myles Garrett is lying stick a fork in him. I know what my gut tells me.

During appeal, Myles Garrett accused Mason Rudolph of using racial slur

Stick a fork in Garrett either way. You can't go around bashing someone's skull in even if they used a disgusting slur like that.

he’ll play again. For the brown.

ill take bets on that.

I think Garrett just made things a whole lot worse for himself.

It certainly seems that way, especially since nobody has come out and corroborated his story and there were a few players in the area.

This actually bothers me more than the helmet thing. That was a momentary lapse of control in an insanely heated moment. This is taking the time to think about it and making a decision to try and ruin a guy by calling him a racist. Myles Garrett is a bad guy.

I know a guy who played on the line in the NFL for 5 years. Hearing his stories, it wouldn't surprise me if he said that. But mentioning this a week later is fishy at best.

Out of curiosity, how long ago? Things have changed radically in the last however many years

Not that it takes anything away from it, but i’d bet his representation had a major role in putting this out.

I’m sure Rudolph just whispered it in Garrett’s ear. Duh. There were 15-20 guys in the pile. If not one backs up Garrett. And I don’t care which team, obviously the slur he is talking about concerns players from both teams, then Garrett has just dug his own grave. And this is something he can’t apologize for. As someone said, he waited all this time to come out w this claim. If it’s fabricated, he’s dead. If it’s not, still not sure it justifies his actions, but does make you wonder why 10 other guys didn’t jump Rudolph.

Well the NFL investigated (ie asked people), and found nothing. So I don't know what else there is to come out. It's likely fabricated....but nothing will happen to him and it'll die here.

Based on how Rudolph's African American teammates came to his defense and the lack of a corroborating witness, I highly doubt he said it. I thought Garrett made a stupid decision with the helmet, but falsely labeling someone a racist makes him a POS for life.

Everyone know how the Pouncey’s are. If he heard his QB say something of the sort it’s possible that he might’ve been stomping and punching his own QB. Ponder that...
