Who you got Saturday?

How can anyone bet against Mayweather? I haven't been a boxing fan since the 90s but this fight, although long overdue, is intriguing.

Has boxing changed in that this won't be an orchestrated setup (I didn't say fixed) for a MvP rematch, for probably even more money?

Regarding rematch, as of now Mayweather said no rematch.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...quiao-rematch-retirement-plans-in-mgm-presser
"ESPN.com's Dan Rafael was on the scene to report that Mayweather would indeed retire after the last fight on his Showtime contract in September, adding that the final bout wouldn't be a Pacquiao rematch."

But that could change if he loses.
If Mayweather even wins and retires without a rematch would he be top athlete to turn down the most money ever?

If so then who could ever say another word about his overspending and flamboyant lifestyle? That's a freakin miracle because we have to be talking well over $50 million and much more if the fight is close.

Jordan, Ali, Magic, Farve, Holmes and so many other greats couldn't, even if they 'un-retired' for non money reasons;).

I listened to John Avello(head of Wynn's sportsbook) on Artie Lange's podcast yesterday and he said that right now a draw is at 7-1 odds because enough people are convinced that having a draw will lead to another 400 million dollar payday in September for a rematch. It is boxing.

If the fight happens four years ago, Pacquiao wins. Now, I seriously doubt it.

You do know that Floyd is 2 years older than Manny right??

That's such a weak argument for Pacquiao fans.

I'm not a fan of either fighter, but it's pretty hard to argue that Pacquiao has declined a lot more than Mayweather has over the last 4-5 years.

I could see Pac winning, I think Pac got bored with boxing a while ago but looked better recently and he's not bored heading into this fight. I saw some chinks in Floyd's armor recently and I think Pac has a sizable chunk of real estate in Floyd's head going into the fight.

I'm not nearly as excited about this fight as I would have been five years ago and I suspect I'm not alone. It just feels like two older fighters putting money in the bank before the end of the road.

I wouldn't be surprised if either guy won.

It also wouldn't surprise me if one of these guys comes out tomorrow and suddenly looks old. Once these boxers start to head north of 35, they tend to fall off the table rather than slowly decline. Neither fighter has been that active over the past couple of years - Floyd's fought four times since 2012 and Manny's fought just three. Floyd didn't look great against Maidana and Manny's fought slappy tomato cans to mark time until this fight. (I think I saw a chink in Manny's armor when he was knocked unconscious three fights back.)

Given that I rate it as a toss-up, I'd put money on the underdog.

That is what happens when you stop taking roids, the decline is fast.

Floyd wins this fight, and would have won 4 or 8 years ago.
There is no proof that Mayweather or Manny took steroids but my guess is they both probably did along with Marquez.

Very good chance this goes all 12 rounds, and decision will be in the hands of the judges.

Will be rooting for Manny and hoping he can produce the high output of punches for all the rounds. He will need to flury with combinations (hit or miss) and yet not get caught by counter punches too often. Maybe he can stun Floyd with one of his left hooks.

The 2015 version of Manny still has the best chance of dethroning Mayweather. Whatever the result, hopefully there will be excitement and doesn't end in a controversial draw.

I am shocked that people say Floyd wins no doubt about it. I doubt any of you have watched his recent fights because if you did youd realize that 1. Floyds legs are not what they were so hes been hanging on the ropes, staying in the pocket and clinching like theres no tommorrow (70 clinches in his last fight)which tells anyone that knows what look at that floyd is declining.

Manny was ko`d 3 years ago but mannys legs still look fresh if you look at all of his fights since. Hes still extremely quick footed and flies around the ring like he always had. He is going to give floyd a ton of problems on saturday night and i think he is going to win. Floyds bread and butter is the shoulder roll defense which does not work well versus southpaws and is even more vulnerable to speed and combinations from southpaws. I think this fight is going to play out like the first 5 rounds of Floyd vs Corley. Corley doesnt have the punching power, speed or stamina of manny. I look for manny to land early and often while floyd tries to pot shot to win rounds. by about the 7th round floyd might realize that he is behind and his usual strategy isnt working and he is going to try to walk manny down and out slug manny and that plays into mannys hands. Floyd loses by stoppage round 10.

The knockout that Pacquiao took is what I'm referring to. He hasn't fought anyone of significance since so it's hard to know for sure, but I suspect he's just not the same fighter.

As to declining skills, I think that Floyd's style lends itself to better longevity since he avoids getting hit.

If Floyd even thought he weld win 4-8 years ago, the fight would have happened then.

That it is one way to look at it, wrong given the facts, but certainly one way to look at it
what facts are those? The bs that Floyd said about manny not wanting to take drug tests before the fight?

LOL at "facts", and a Mayweather fanboy taking the bait . . .

Huh? Age has nothing to do with it. Their rate of decline is what he was commenting on.
