You emptied your clip and you had nothing. If you were a movie character, you'd be the dork that came running out of the closet from Pulp Fiction.
Seriously. Had nothing. There is the 1949 Fencing national title. Can't take that from them I guess. Nothing. Doormat is what they will always be. Doormat. And their basketball coach is a liar. This on the heels of one who chucks basketballs at players heads, who followed a coach who doesn't know how to act in public, who followed a mid major coach, who followed a coach who made his players strip naked in practice.

Yeah parents will want to send their kids to go play for a an old liar.

UConn is in a far worse conference situation than Rutgers, but last night pulled a basketball commit who is a bigger deal than any player who has EVER committed to Rutgers, in any conference.

You are, truly, out of your league.

Okay...that's pertaining to basketball. What league are you in basically in all sports...generally speaking? Like I said, you will rule the AAC...in basketball as usual...in football, you;ll continue to be terrible.

Gee that;s the pot calling the kettle black. You might want to finish putting some meat on your own programs black eye before you say anything about RU's.

You still lost your best coach...who's going to the B10 btw.

He's not very good. They can have him. That's why he lost to Pasqualoni. If he was any good, he wouldn't have lost.

And you're saying that RU football is going to be amazing? I don't think I'll live to see the day where RU makes it to a BCS bowl game or playoffs. And I'm 25.

I'm not saying UConn will either, but it's really not like RU has any better of a program. You really don't. And your institution is just a running punch line that never seems to end. We'll reconvene when your head coach gets fired in a few weeks a la Pitt a couple of years ago.

And what's your current coach doing now...Pasqusloni? Are you guys happy with him?

No, I'm not staging that at all, what I'm saying is this, besides some simple variables, what does UCONN offer? Answer that question! UCONN got lucky, and was in the right place at the right time. So what you've won the conference twice. Have you regressed or improved? I know our BB program has regressed, but our football program has improved. In retrospect, your Bb program has gotten better, your football program has gotten worse. Big deal. You must not watch a lot of big ten football to know who are the annual cellar dwellars in the conference.

BTW top...our head coach probably will be around a little while longer than yours (in football that is). But hey, I can accept that as actual fact. Don't worry though.

What do you mean what does UConn have to offer? It's the top public university in New England, in addition to a well funded athletics program with a national following as evidenced by the basketball programs. A school that has been on the up-and-up.

Rutgers on the other hand is starting to slip academically, is in major debt, and continues to look buffoonish with its PR.

As far as your BB program, I'm not sure how you can say it has regressed when in never was anything. Your football program is not improved, it hit its peak in 2006 and that coach is now in the NFL. Rutgers will never be a destination job for coaches, so your comment about coaches lasting longer really is similar to saying, well my IQ is higher than yours when your IQ is 80.

Also, do you not see my signature? I go to IU right now...I know the bottom dwellers in the conference. I'm going to tell you, Rutgers is going to be at the bottom. It might not be the very bottom, but it is bottom 25%.

What I feel really bad for is the fact that your basketball program will never...ever..........ever...get to shine in the B1G. Just ask Northwestern. And maybe outside of a fluke year, you're gonna have trouble making it in football (for instance, ask Illinois how that's working for them haha)

.-.
How embarrassing. It properly values the worth of a Rutgers degree and the administration's due diligence and consideration of its worth.

Again what does UCONN have to offer besides what they're getting off on what USNWR says about they're academics. So RU's academics is slipping? According to whom? According to what you perceive? In the world university rankings, you're not even in the top 200. Hell you're not even in the top 250. You do make it between 250 -275. And where is RU academics slipping, when their ranking is 99th in the world? In a few major/minor criterias we place very highly. As a matter of fact, we place very highly where UCONN doesn't even rank from undergraduate to graduate programs. Mathematics, engineering sciences, and physics, to name a few. Where are you guys? Most people don't even go by the USNWR rankings, but would rather go by the more prestigious world rankings because at least their criterias for rankings or more transparent.

As far as your BB program, I'm not sure how you can say it has regressed when in never was anything. Your football program is not improved, it hit its peak in 2006 and that coach is now in the NFL. As far as football is concerned, stick to bb! You couldn't tell where what peaked, because you went from one school with a so so football program and no strong regional recruits to another school with a terrible football reputation and a state that worships bb as GOD itself. Let's face it, how could you talk football when travels have none to speak of? From Connecticut to Indiana, what's the difference?
My IQ is 80? Who gives 2 craps? We're talking sports...I can tell by the fact that you've probably just graduated from school just in recent years, that you would boast of your IQ being so high, or whatever...how juvenile. And that's the best you can come up with? Smh...and please don't bring up your major and what you do. That's juvenile too.

Also, do you not see my signature? I go to IU right now...I know the bottom dwellers in the conference. I'm going to tell you, Rutgers is going to be at the bottom. It might not be the very bottom, but it is bottom 25%.

We will truly see. As i've stated before and I will state again as a reminder, we're in the B1G and You're not. Dassit! End of discussion! The only way I can see you remotely getting into the B1G is if you play some of the B1g schools as an OOC game. Sorry, but that's the deal for the foreseeable future. BTW, for arguments sake, IU is one of the cellar dwellers for it's academic rep next to UNL. Go check for yourself before you BOAST of your IQ.

What I feel really bad for is the fact that your basketball program will never...ever..........ever...get to shine in the B1G. Just ask Northwestern. And maybe outside of a fluke year, you're gonna have trouble making it in football (for instance, ask Illinois how that's working for them haha)

We don't need to ask the Illini about a GD thing. You're in Indiana. Nuff said!

Are you a freaking genius RU? I've seen a lot of good football between 2006 and 2013. You're missing the Cincinnati in there, which will always be a better football school than Rutgers.

UConn also has its share of nationally ranked programs including its top ranked School of Kineseology...which you know in the sports world, means a lot.

And if you really care, I'm going to one of the best schools in the country for what I do where they're paying me to take their classes on their highest fellowship. So you can take your high horse and suck it :)

No, but Edsall presents a level of suckitude where he loses to Pasqualoni!

And also probably won't coach more than a year in the B1G anyway. Edsall is terrible.

We're not talking Cinci ...we're talking UCONN and what they bring to the table as opposed to RU. Cinci has had their day. Now make a point about where your program should or shouldn't be. And please...if you have to take out the ruler to measure up you vs me...unnecessary. You're making this personal about IQ's and who's doing what to get you what you need. Typical!

99.95% of the fanbase wants him gone. Next time try a little research.

And you're the one who apparently is getting off by trolling a sports board by constantly saying "yeah, what's UConn got to offer" when RU literally doesn't having anything themselves. Deflect away, but judging from other RU alumni, they aren't very good at deflecting. (See OP of this thread.)

Wow, whatta pissing contest this has become... I actually thought Jordan was a great hire. He's always seemed a likeable coach & his teams seemed to play hard for him. Hopefully he can take some summer classes & get that degree!

How about a medical school? How about the best dental school in the country? How about the best Kinesiology Department in the country? That last one is similar to RU having the best Philosophy Department in the country- except it's in a disciple that actually matters. How about a state investment over the span of 20 years that is over SIX TIMES the size of your entire endowment?

It all comes down to TV. It's the ONLY thing RU has over UConn. People are well aware of how far RU has fallen academically. The rep in academia was that you were cutting programs left and right while subsidizing sports by 30m a year. It worked out well for you. In the meantime, your reputation suffered badly and that's why you dropped in those USNWR rankings, because rep. has a huge weight. Those questionnaires filled by academics are like 3/4s of the entire weight of that "poll," as I call it. UConn has a great TV market, it's beyond absurd why no one has picked it up when schools like Cuse and Ville have joined. UConn actually has a winning football record against Pitt, Cuse and Ville.

BBall speaks for itself. Basically, UConn is a victim of circumstances. Its metrics show it belongs. In terms of Tier 3 TV rights and money and sponsorships, UConn set the gold standard in the old Big East, as it hauled in $25 million a year, or $10 million more than Louisville. It just so happened that FSU set its weight down this year on Ville's pretty good football team (which actually lost to Connecticut). In case you didn't know, SNY has been pushing UConn huge in New York City. The women's team this year actually BUMPED a Syracuse bball Big East game head-to-head. In the state of Connecticut, basketball is actually the HIGHEST rated show not only on cable, but network as well.

Not good enough. You can't lie about your degree.

[SIGH] You can keep asking that question, but we're still going to another conference and you're not! Well...actually you're the closest since you go to IU, but that's besides the point. When you've been rejected twice by the...oh never mind.

Rutgers was the poster boy for Andrew Zimbalist's argument that far from sports helping schools, some schools develop a complex over sports. The name becomes synonymous with losing, which has repercussions for the school's reputation among high school students.

Ohhh, I never knew that stuff like engineering, amths, or physics, education, business wasn't that important. Thanks for enlightening me.

How can we be rejected if we legally can't apply?

All of which UConn has more than admirable programs with high graduation rates into leading industry jobs in the NYC area.
