Besides MBB, what does UCONN offer, that Rutgers cannot offer?

A way of inducing excitement amongst an interested fan base?

Evidently a competent registrar's office for one.

As much as I'd love to laugh at the incompetence of anything Rutgers, you can't really blame the Registrar's office on this one. School's can disclose a student's information, as long as said student has not specifically requested that it be made private. Under FERPA, school's can release the following information without any consent from the student:
name, address, telephone number, school e-mail address, photograph, date and place of birth, major field of study, dates of attendance, grade level, athletic participation, weight & height of athletes, degrees/honors/awards received
If you want any of that information about any former student, it is available. If you want to call up to UConn's Registrar's Office and verify Kevin Ollie's degree, the school can release that information to you.
As you can see on the form that the journalist obtained, he had it sent to his work/home address. The form itself is not a transcript, since official transcripts have information legally bounded by FERPA and cannot be released without the consent of the student. The form that Deadspin has is just an enrollment/degree certification that can be obtained by just about anybody.

An actual fan base, instead of phantom waiting lists for season tickets? Competence across the board? Clean air and water?

A 40000 seat stadium with a dead atmosphere. If you guys had so much to offer, you would've been in another conference by now, with or without your competent Athletic department, MBB program, or your non AAU status.

Lol. I think another good question is how he managed to take 24 credit hours in the spring of 1974, while playing in every Rutgers basketball game as a starter. I mean, I suppose it's possible, but 24 credits is tough even if you're focused on that alone.

He must have majored in AFAM studies. :)

Go take a poll on all the B1G message boards to find out how excited your new conference is about RU. It is the biggest "despite the lack of any success in any area whatsoever" decision I can think of.

Why take the poll? We're already in. So really why take a poll on an already dead issue?

Because Michigan State fans probably feel the same about Rutgers as UConn fans do about Tulane?

...and you will always be screwed up. Its your legacy, its your destiny. You were the least acomplished AD in the BE and you will be in the B1G.

Funny you should say that, because now you can be the most accomplished AD in the AAC. That's your legacy, and that's your destiny.
Oh and BTW, you guys can be the Indiana of the AAC. Great BB, occasional National chips, Excellent Womens BB. I freely admit, your BB programs are in another galaxy, but football drives the bus. Always has, always will.

You've accomplished nothing there either so whats your point? Congrats on landing in conference where you will make more money, but bottom line you will go from being a doormat in the big east to being doormat in the big ten. So congrats again.

Here's a question I had for another batch of Rutgers' fans that visited, but I never got an answer.

What's the big moment for Rutgers' fans? What's the big win? The one you talk about when you all get together.

For the life of me, I cannot imagine what it might be.

It can't be a hoop game because Lord knows Rutgers hasn't been to an NCAA tournament since well before Al Gore invented the internet. It can't be a football game because you've never really been to a bigger bowl game.

I tried to read through the Rutgers' history on their website and near as I can tell, the biggest on-field moment in Rutgers' athletics came when they lost to Bear Bryant by a lot less than they thought they would. Your biggest win was a moral victory?

Or was it when the Big Ten invited you? Is it entirely possible that your greatest moment is attributable to your population density?

Congrats, I guess, on your foresight in building your homes close together. It's really paid off.

Congrats on having less accomplishments in your 100 year history than uconns 12 years of playing fbs.

Where does your football bus drive to? Not BCS games.

Wait a sec...maybe it's me but you guys sure sound like you have sour grapes for RU landing in the Big 10. Ok...we're terrible at MBB. WE STILL LANDED IN THE BIG TEN. Again, if your football program was up to snuff, you'd be there too [but you guys have Pasqualoni...maybe he can lead the way]. The bottom line is that, it wasn't just the market value that got us into the B1G, but it was a variety of other factors as well, and that includes AAU membership, which allowed us into the CIC (YOU DON'T HAVE THOSE). And please don't bring up the USNWR rankings! Everyone knows that it's a sham. RU far outranks you in the international rankings of Universities as well. So you can keep bringing up your...whatever to toot your own horn, just to make you feel good

For some apparent reason, when it comes to sports other than BB, we fit right in naturally with the B1G (ie wrestling, football, baseball...), and the conference heavyweights seem to always come in to recruit from NJ moreso than they do in say...Connecticut. Other than basketball, you have a shortage in other areas! DASSIT!

And here's your answer...apart from playing some heavyweights, and you don't read very well...lil ol RUTGERS beat...TENNESSEE!!! YES...THE "WHAT'S A RUTGERS" GEME. The same Tennessee team that was always rivaling Coach Paul Bear Bryant's Alabama teams in the 70's and into the 80's. And how about a tie against UFla in the mid 80's. We've had some pretty big wins in our past, and some near misses as well, since making the jump into big time football into the early 1980's.

For the life of me, I cannot imagine what it might be. Refer to the above

It can't be a hoop game because Lord knows Rutgers hasn't been to an NCAA tournament since well before Al Gore invented the internet. It can't be a football game because you've never really been to a bigger bowl game.
You're right...can't think of one either.

I tried to read through the Rutgers' history on their website and near as I can tell, the biggest on-field moment in Rutgers' athletics came when they lost to Bear Bryant by a lot less than they thought they would. Your biggest win was a moral victory?
I think that you only need to read it once. You'll only see what you want to see, which isn't much.

Or was it when the Big Ten invited you? Is it entirely possible that your greatest moment is attributable to your population density?
Yeah...we've heard that before. That may be true, but the bottom line is that NJ churns out 4 to 5 times more recruits than Connecticut can muster in a 5 year period. Sadly, this is a fact! Sorry.

Congrats, I guess, on your foresight in building your homes close together. It's really paid off.

Rutgers has been the joke of college sports for years. Congrats on the lotto ticket but you were always a turd in the big east and you will always be a turd in the B1G. No hard feelings and I hope UConn gets there some day . Your greatest accomplishment was beating Louisville 7 years ago. You're basketball team hasn't made the tournament in 2 decades. Pretty sure every other Big East team had including PC, Seton hall and USF. Location location location!

Dude...get a clue. BB is a great sport, but I've never seen a BB game attract 112k, 109k, 105k, and HIJK, to a basketball event. And no that was not our greatest accomplishment, top! I just laid it out for you. Penn state has a large stadium, gorgeous facilities, and a very nice looking BB arena in Bryce Jordan. They are not that great in BB either. What is your point?
