For anyone interested, Bubba's been laying low since the Master's doing the media circus tours, and skipped this week's Player's Championship at Sawgrass.
Why?
"He skipped the Players Championship to return to his home region Thursday for his nephew’s birthday and to enable relatives to see his adopted, infant son, Caleb, on Mother’s Day weekend.
“It means a lot that people here would support me and cheer for me this way,” Watson said. “All my tears are for them. I said it when I won the Masters and I meant it. This is all for (the community).
“Even though I am not here that much, it’s fun to see the people support me this much.”
Watson — who grew up in the Pensacola area as a self-taught golfer, never attending a golf academy or receiving private instruction — has ensured the region’s next generation will have the same opportunity he enjoyed.
He has donated $100,000, including the latest $50,000 check he received from Avis Car Rental as the PGA Tour player of the month, to fully fund the Divot Derby junior golf tournament for the next five years.
Watson, who last won the long-standing event in 1994, will pay for all the operation costs, the awards, the course rentals, the food and the fees, so every youth golfer who wishes to participate can play for free.
“What it means for us is that we can put on a first-class event and not worry about begging, scraping or scrimping to do it, which is what we normally have to do in junior golf,” said Marty Stanovich, executive director of the First Tee of Northwest Florida. “What also makes this so special is that it’s all about Bubba not forgetting where he came from.
“The Divot Derby was very important to him and he wants to support it.”

If he's the second biggest on tour behind only Phil (as someone posted earlier in this thread), these guys on the PGA tour must be the nicest, most caring group of folks on the planet. Mother Theresa, Dali Lama and the Pope would have felt blessed to hang out with such wonderful people.
