Oregon (9) @ Miss St (5) Tonite

I agree, how the heck can anyone have 4 teams ranked ahead of Mississippi State

How many have seen miss st this year? Not sure they've had many TV games?

Also I'd put UConn and ND ahead. And SC did solidly beat them twice last year.

I like Satou Sabally. She is very aggressive and only a freshman ..

Besides her drive moves, she took a very nice perfect form 3pt shot from the top of the key in the 2nd quarter. Her potential is incredible. They had mentioned that her sister is coming to OU next year.

Are the teams playing 2 on 2? Looks like Hebard/Ionescu and McCowan/William are doing all of the scoring.

Now they're playing 3 on 3--Vivians and Sabally got going in the 3rd quarter.

OU showing good fight but Itty bitty coming back

.-.
I still think Oregon isn't "there" yet. Good early win against Texas A&M, beat an Oklahoma team that is struggling so far this year. Got handled by Louisville and getting handled tonight. I'd like to see them compete better in these types of games before I totally buy into the hype.

OU cant play elite defense because overall team speed on defense is lacking (except Sabally probably). Top 10 yes but very hard to get in top 5.

They do show flashes from time to time and there's plenty of talent on hand but I keep thinking they should be about twice as fast as they really are.

ND could not bring the ball the ball to half court vs MSU. And USC east is missing two/three key starters from last years team..

Answering my question - looks like their only TV game was the close one against a then-unheralded okla st team.

Somebody has to get a body on McCowan. The Ducks are letting her stand in front of the rim

At least Oregon is challenging themselves with true road games against top-tier competition, something that can be said of no other top team except Notre Dame (at UConn) and Baylor (at UCLA).

If they are that much better than ND, then they should be ranked #1, because UConn is only slightly better than the Irish.

2018/2019 Oregon starting lineup?

PG Cazorla 5'10 (Sr)
SG Ionescu 5'10 (Jr)
SF Sabally 6'4 (Soph)
PF Hebard 6'4 (Jr)
C McGwire 6'5 (Jr)

Vivians having quite the second half: 26 points on 9-11 shooting. Geezus.

Maybe it's a Pac 12 thing. Stanford has played @ Ohio St and Baylor. Oregon St. @ Duke. Washington @ Ohio St. Cal @ UConn.

It always seems like the Pac-12 teams play about 2 or 3 times as many marquee OOC games on the road as they do at home.

Um. And maybe UConn too?

Oregon shooting 55% from the floor, 47% behind the arc, scored 79 points and trailing by double figures. Just couldn't stop MSU from scoring. 65 combined points for McCowan and Vivians on 25-33 from the floor.

Sorry, yes. UConn is in such a class by themselves I don't even include them in this type of discussion :)

This thing wasn’t close after the first 5 minutes. Again, we see the gap between the top 5 or so teams, and the rest of the top 25. UO isn’t that bad, but surely looked bad tonight.

Seems likely. Bando is the only Sr. Lineup gets quite a bit bigger replacing her w/ Sabally. Would have to be one of the tallest starting lineups in the country.

Satou looks every bit as skilled as AS. She's very quick and has very good handles.
OU will be a very good team for the next couple of years.

Ionescu doesn't quite hit all of my expectations. She's a good all around player. Competitive.
