don't understand why USA Basketball didn't give Taurasi her swan song with Bird back in 2021, really no reason for her to be on this team or starting

Maybe because the fans were cardboard. But I agree, she's washed with the occasional throwback game.

Spain has fallen off big time from a talent level from the peak Gasol Bros era

Germany really turned into super power, they're killing France. They weren't anything close to this under Dirk's reign, gotta think his influence and career laid the blueprint for what was to come after him.

I don’t mind her being on the team for one more go, but there’s no reason she should be starting at this stage of her career. The U.S. is at a speed disadvantage every time they step on the floor because of their backcourt.

Between Cheryl Reeve and Steve Kerr, I’m not sure who’s done a more underwhelming job with their respective rosters. When you add in the bizarre 3x3 roster selections, it feels like team USA needs to rethink their approach ahead of the next cycle.

Patty Mills transforms into a different animal when FIBA rolls around, Australia destroying Serbia and Jokic right now

Australia was up 44-20 over Serbia in the first half, Serbia comes all the way back and takes a 6 pt lead in the 4th, Patty Mills hits a jumper over Jokic falling down with 2 secs left to force OT.

that last 90 seconds from Jokic was special stuff, dude singlehandedly saved Serbia from defeat after it looked like Aus would hold on in OT

France looks like a completely different team with Rudy benched.

Per usual, SGA stepping up when needed to try and get Canada back in the game anyways. His midrange is almost unstoppable.

France is absolutely exposing Canada’s lack of size.

the best France has looked throughout the exhibitions and pool play, I was expecting Canada to walk through them, since they have the better guards and wings, but Murray has looked pretty bad in FIBA play. Memphis blocking Edey from playing hurting Canada here.

100% on Edey.

I wonder if France sticks with this lineup throughout the rest of the Olympics if they hold off Canada.

I had them as a sleeper to win to start (even put something down on them that I’ve cashed out). Would be sick if they turn it on in bracket play.

still plenty of time for Canada to walk France down, they're gonna have to deal with these biased refs tho

Canada could have used Wiggins here too if he came into the tourney engaged like his first couple of years with GSW, need another athlete on the wings who could mix it up inside
