JB is a media master. Make the AD be the bad guy. Brilliant.the AD has 3 options:

1) Be the bad guy and be hated by your prime boosters..until you get fired in a year
2) Honor JB's contact and exteend it to a lifetime cushy Advisory role where his shadow will loom heavily over the poor bastard who replaces him
3) Asking him to coach again....( the best option)

Prime Jimmy on display today.
Contract is expired according to some dude on the Syracuse forum. There is no contract to honor.

But the triple bind you describe for Cuse's AD is essentially correct, I think. This is exquisite.

Syracuse has the 183rd ranked recruiting class for 2023 with a 7’2” unranked project as the only commit. If they start losing players to the portal there is no reason to keep Boehiem around. It isn’t like they lose high ranked commits. Now is the time

Sounds like he is out. Said he gave his retirement speech last week but no one figured it out.

Boy, that last 30 seconds or so when he was talking about coming back was odd to say the least.

Maybe he was with Aaron Rodgers in the dark room the last couple of weeks and he’s trying to figure out what has happened and where it’s going from this point.

It’s pretty telling what’s going to happen Jimmy!

The between games CBB guys on ESPN right now are saying Boeheim has one more year left on his contract. They said that more than once.

Boeheim has sabotaged the job for the next guy, and the roster is fleeing. There is not even going to be anyone to talk into staying.

There may be 10+ P6 job openings this year. Why would a hot young coach go to Syracuse with all this noise?

Very interesting exchange just now from the Syracuse AD and a random reporter:

Syracuse AD: “Yeah, we can't actually find a record of him being a current employee here. We looked into it more deeply and found that apparently what happened is that he was laid off five years ago and no one ever told him, but through some kind of glitch in the payroll department, he still gets a paycheck. So we just went ahead and fixed the glitch.”

Random Reporter: “So um, Boeheim has been let go?”

Syracuse AD: “Well just a second there, professor. We uh, we fixed the glitch. So he won't be receiving a paycheck anymore, so it will just work itself out naturally. We always like to avoid confrontation, whenever possible. Problem solved from our end.”

Yay, we don't have a full season of listening to the Syracuse grads on ESPN go on about his wonderful tenure at Syracuse. It will be compressed into a few days. Sad that he played games up until the end.
