Official Bracket Thread

One bracket should get 7 ranked teams as 4 regions x 6 ranked teams = 24 so a 7th ranked team must get assigned somewhere.

I understand that but it should not be the overall #1 seed.

There are 25 top 25 teams, 4 brackets - three brackets get 6 each, one gets 7, in particular the bottom 7 (24 & 25). Seems fair to me.

So you think the #1 overall seed should get the most Top 25 teams in their bracket? That makes zero sense.

So if UConn makes it to the Final 4 - would they play Norte Dames/Oregon’s region?

Yeah, mid majors don't deserve to be ranked

When your strength of schedule is 258 (Belmont) or 259 (Mercer), yeah you probably don't.

That's not a criticism of their scheduling, which is probably fine compared to their peers. But let's compare apples to apples.

I realize the women's tourney always does wacky things but #1 should match up with the worst 2nd seed. So a team from the "toughest" conference, which BTW they have won FOUR years in a row is the worst #2 ???

SC was clearly the #7 team. They can't be paired with the #2 team (Miss St), so they were matched with the #1. Not a huge surprise.

USF is a 6 seed, they have to beat the 3 then the 2 to get to the 1 and that’s not happening.
Then why have a tournament???
So good to see so many posters on here that know how everything is going to work out...Head bang

If it comes to pass, I would expect Oregon vs. Notre Dame to be high scoring as well.

Some ND folks were hoping for a 2-seed opposite Miss St. Personally, I wanted the #1 in Spokane opposite Oregon because I think that would be an extremely entertaining game.

I think Muffet is going to have some sleepless nights trying to figure out how to defend Oregon's offense.
I just want to see NO MORE INJURIES for ND in the tournament! I like their draw.

How many Big 10 teams are in? Seems like most of their bubble teams have not seen their name called yet.

Honestly besides South Carolina (a team we beat by 20+ on their home court), which of those teams do you think can beat us?

You keep looking at this in the wrong way. It isn't about who can beat UConn, it's about the overall strength of the region compared to the others. The difference between them and the other 3 ones is huge. The NCAA claims to try and achieve balance among the regions but it sure doesn't look like it this year.

SC was clearly the #7 team. They can't be paired with the #2 team (Miss St), so they were matched with the #1. Not a huge surprise.
Yes, I forgot about that -- they got what they call a "procedural bump" down in order to avoid two SEC teams playing each other in the regional final.
