The highest for CB and Safeties was 22 - he was @ 17. Teams aren't drafting him for his bench press numbers.
Of course not. Was just hoping he'd be in the top ten for everything, catch peoples attention. Plus he'd justify the hype. I'm sure he'll be top ten in at least a couple category's.

I guess it's just telling bc BD had his guys so bulked up, you'd think they'd be benching big #s

He wasn't off by Acapulco: Of the 50 CB/Safeties that lifted today there was 1 @ 22 reps, 1 @ 21 reps, 3 @ 20 reps, 5 @ 19 reps, 2 @ 18 reps.

17 reps gets 8th place amongst safeties and 13 overall for DB's?

Without doing research, I believe this class is jacked. 17 Reps isn't going to harm anyone's draft position as a DB.

GM's/scouts will be more interested in what he does with his legs than his chest. A good 40 time (straight speed), shuttle run (quick/agile speed), and jumps (explosiveness) is what he has been - i am guessing - most preparing for. With his height and weight, his power will be generated with his legs. Obi has a chance to make himself a lot of money today.

You guys are the least optimistic bunch... I'm not saying NT helped his cause, but a 4.63 for a WR at the combine isn't the end of the world. He's not going in the first 4 rounds... but the mid to late round is full of guys that ran high 4.5s to low 4.6s. .... hell Demarcus Ayers is 5'9" tall, ran a 4.72 and got drafted. If someone really wants him... they'll still take him.

The key numbers for DBs and WRs are shuttle and cones, in addition to 40s, but some teams emphasize the quickness drills.

Obi looks ripped.

Not saying NT should equal Obi, but Thomas needed to do better.

They will never do it and I understand why, but I think these 40 times would be more valuable if the players ran with a full uniform - with a minimum of at least a helmet and shoulder pads. The combine would issue the equipment to it is standardized.

I watch some of these guys run and they run so hard, it looks like a running style you would never use in an actual game.

I know a 40 time w/o pads is way better than nothing...just saying that with pads - results may be more telling.

True. And how often do you run 40 yds on a line in a game? Shuttles and cone drills are more telling for game related speed
