Maybe not. They only beat a pretty bad (I'm sorry to say) West Virginia team by three and it would have gone into overtime if it wasn't for an unfortunate penalty. ;):(

Doesn't this violate the prohibition on coaches commenting on recruits before they signed LOI's? Or is she covered by the fact that she did not name names?
No.
Yes.
This falls under the new NCAA social medial guidelines where “Coaches can share articles or post about prospects as long as they do not ‘tag’ or mention the player’s names."

Did anyone watch that Geno Auriemma interview after first night? It covers a lot of topics, but one of the interviewers asks him to talk about the 2020 recruiting class. Geno literally responds "every kid in America is really really good." Obviously knowing he can't say anything about them. It annoyed me, that the lady asking the question is do stupid to ask it.

Angel Reese was at the exhibition game on Friday and I thought that was a very good sign. She is the highest ranked player ever in the HoopGurlz era to sign with Brenda and Maryland. Maryland will have an awesome starting lineup if everyone is healthy next season. Owusu, Mikesell, Reese, Miller and Austin. Bench won't be to bad with Lewis, Young, Masonius, Collins and Owens.

I'm not surprised by this and look forward to watching Angel. I understand that she is insanely athletic, unorthodox, and at times out of control. So she may be raw as a freshman, but she should be an impact player sooner rather than later.

Greta Kampschroeder (6' guard, 2021 ESPN #12 overall, PN #26 overall) visited Oregon State last weekend. I borrowed this photo of her taken during the visit and posted on Benny's House by beaverwbb fan. Not a commit, but she looks awfully comfortable in those Beaver threads! The pic is reminiscent of a photo of Sasha Goforth (OSU 2020 verbal commit) on instagram where she is wearing a Beaver uniform and dribbling. Hmmmmm.....

Where do y'all think Treasure Hunt ends up? Heard Kentucky felt good about her.

Kampschroeder is visiting Stanford this weekend - nice timing too, since she will be there for the Team USA exhibition game!

I knew Stanford was also recruiting Kampschroeder. The same goes for Payton Verhulst who is being recruited by both Oregon State and Stanford as well. Stanford has obvious substantial advantages over Oregon State. Oregon State's advantages may be more subtle, less quantifiable, and more case by case. One thing in Oregon State's favor is the commitment of Sasha Goforth, as I believe she is friends with both gals and all 3 played together on the same 3x3 team. An ongoing friendship and prior teammate connection can be important factors: for example, the commitment of Taylor Jones to Oregon State helped draw Kennedy Brown to follow suit. They were and are good friends and are now roommates at OSU.

Also, quick S/O to Nell over at GaTech for picking up her third top-100 recruit in 2020 in Eylia Love. Nice work.

big grab for Baylor

Curious who will pull Hailey Van Lith. I couldn't even predict where she ends up.

Hailey Van Lith is at Baylor right now with Hannah Gusters and Sarah Andrews Their weekend was titled "the big 3"

Because Andrews committed to Baylor doesn't mean Hailey Van Lith won't...

I'm keeping fingers crossed. Andrews and Van Lith are both at Kim's house right now...

Well, Oregon State did not make Hailey Van Lith's final 4, Oregon did. But a few folks think Olson (or the editors?) made a mistake in the ESPN article: he said "Oregon" but he meant "Oregon State". Frankly, I don't buy it. I do agree with some others that Baylor may still be her destination, despite Andrews commitment.

Baylor got Andrews! Hailey Van Lith next
I could see S Andrews taking the reins next season for Baylor. Great get for them and not a surprise. I could also see them getting Hailey Van Lith. By bringing S Andrews and H Van Lith in together they obviously are selling them both as combo guards.

Van Lith’s style of play most resembles Louisville imo.

Hat Trick! I'm thinking Louisville and Hailey Van Lith are a good match. Walz has always given leeway to his alpha scorers and Hailey Van Lith seems a natural for that predisposition. Tempermentally, Walz and Hailey Van Lith also seem to be a good match.

As for schools on the Pacific Coast, Hailey Van Lith could be a "local girl" who stays in-state and resurrects Washington, but she has never seemed to be interested in that option. Maybe she's gotten to know UCLA Coach Close via the National Team and is drawn to the "push-it-up" style employed when Canada was playing as a Bruin in Westwood.

Stay tuned....

Nah I still feel good about Hailey Van Lith in green and gold! It was cute to see Louisville fans think they had a chance with Andrews

The way things have gone at Baylor lately, with so many transfers both in and out, maybe it's just as well that they start somewhere else so that Mulkey can have them transfer in when they're most experienced.
