Non-UConn recruiting thread - 2025

This feels like it was lifted from On3's report from the same day. The use of images associated with Texas and Virginia seem odd as well. If it is, that's unfortunate.

We could be ridiculously tall and lengthy at guard in the next few years if we were to nab her. In theory we could be 5'9" PG, 6'1" SG, 6'4" W, 6'3" F, 6'5" C. If we got Agot to play PG in a tall lineup we could have no one shorter than 6"1' on the floor. I don't think we've ever had that size at guard. Please be a Gamecock, we desperately need guards.🙏

It rarely works out that 6'4 player with perimeter skills actually plays out there primarily.
I am not too familiar with her game but recently watched some YouTube clips to get more familiar. She looks very natural handling the ball, like Candice Parker natural. Of course those show the best of a player so I don't have the full picture but I think she may be an exception to the rule.

She seems to be a good shooter and ok ball handler, but you can also do that as a skilled four.

I probably should watch some full games to get a better sense. But I mentally figure she'll pick one of the two further west.

All the varieties of bbq and cheer wine pale in comparison to the beach pizza available to the California kids.

1. It's Cheerwine, not Cheer Wine. People would get flogged in the streets of Salisbury (NC) for less. 😡

2. Duke has recruited California kids with pretty good success throughout the years. Usually keep at least one of the roster. Several years we had 3-4 .

3. Not sure what Beach Pizza is .. but overnight delivery to my house is available if anyone wants to introduce me to it.

I don’t quite either, but Iowa does a great job getting them there. SC isn’t the California of the South either, but at least we have beaches and warm weather 75% of the year. 😅

You have one beach (Hilton Head). Warm 75% of the time... Hot as the inside of a coal burning oven the other 25%. But I digress, not here for bashing my neighbors to the south.

It's also known as surfer pizza. Heavy on the cheese and the peppers, light on the sauce. Personally, I don't care for it. But yung people seem to be attached to it. And, btw, spelling is state specific. Here in New Mexico the law specifically says no public floggings for spelling disagreements.

This is absolutely correct. South Carolina only has one beach. Definitely go there everyone.

I wonder if recruits are attracted to the style of play for TN or if they have good NIL. At least you'll know you will play a lot. TN is interesting, they are getting a lot of big-time recruits/transfers. I wonder how prepared her players will be for the pro's. Or if that style of play will be good for player retention.

I think the style of play is part of it.
The Tennessee name also. I think it's a combination of name and style.

TN has officially passed up LSU on future of SEC tier moving forward
I wouldn't count out LSU yet. Two more years of Fulwiley/Williams, a monster freshman class this year and no one works the transfer portal quite like Mulkey does.

Kim Caldwell is hauling in some major talent though in Knoxville. If she can coach and develop players, Tennessee could be back in the title hunt again.

I think more than anything, South Carolina is the program with some heat on them now. They have good younger players like Makeer/Edwards but they lose 5 players after this season and have struck out on #1 Saniyah Hall, #2 Oliviyah Edwards and #4 Kate Harpring in the class of 2026.

Great points. There are a lot of different storylines to monitor this year in the SEC. Love it.

It's the end of the road for the Gamecocks I'm afraid.
