Non-UConn recruiting thread - 2025

Abii took her official visit to Notre Dame like 6 months ago. Her official visit to UCLA was like 5 months ago. Time will tell if those early visits meant those teams were frontrunners, or if the time lapsed has those visits fade.

  • And I agree with you that Juju transferring could actually be not a bad outcome for Southern Cal and Gottlieb if Southern Cal’s program could become more sustainable as a result.
Cackling at the thought of Juju taking the court in Greenville to represent the home team in Southern Cal’s 2026 return trip.

She must (or have to have) new OV’s for Texas and ND that aren’t disclosed to the public yet. I know the other three she has set for this fall. I think Texas and LSU have the SF spot secured for years to come… (Texas with Crump and LSU with basically their whole 2025 class at the SF spot). ND will not have that much depth this year. UCLA-maybe? Tennessee has too many SF’s too (in my opinion)-they just got Prawl—who basically plays her position. I would be shocked if she went to LSU due to the players they got in the 2025 class. I don’t see her playing all that much. Maybe UCLA and/or ND in my opinion maybe? Texas is a wild card. Niele Ivey needs Abii though for the 2026 class (in my opinion). She can fill the Prosper role whenever she graduates after this year (supposed to anyway…) We shall see….

If she already officially visited UCLA and Notre Dame, then she can't visit them officially a second time as far as I know. Unofficially, yes, but not officially. That leaves upcoming official visits to Texas, Tennessee, and LSU.

This update was from May; perhaps outdated since she is no longer considering Duke.

Southi:
You and @jbc021592 are making me switch gears from my post-vacation re-entry to board life! ;)

I ventured over to the Recruiting Update on the Bench (which I conveniently compile) and found this:
"(Abii) Took an unofficial trip to ND during the Cal weekend Feb. 7-9, 2025."
To the best of my knowledge, OV's still start just after the NCAA finals, so Abii still has an official left for ND, if so desired. And, while not formally announced, I've got notes from contributors (at least two) indicating she'll take it.

ND hasn't had a major contributor from Texas since Brianna Turner and Ivey has spent a boatload of time in Texas...with Abitt a major reason. We'll see.

How can a big ND fan like you not be on top of this? :p This IG update is from February and says #officialvisit

Yes. I’m aware. I just meant that maybe Abii will be going back to ND and UCLA for new OVs?…

Not sure you're getting my point.

Each recruit is only allowed one official (all expenses paid) visit to each school; limit used to be 5 official visits per recruit (to different schools), but I believe that is now one official visit to as many schools as desired. Only if/when a head coach leaves can a recruit re-visit that school on a second official visit.

Unofficial (paid by recruit's family) visits are unlimited, but very restrictive as far as what a school can pay for (like game tickets).

Rules change all the time, but that is my current understanding.

Thanks. I just thought that the ones she did for ND and UCLA were UnOVs. Thanks.

1. Tired of that school
2. Nothing like raised blood pressure on a Saturday afternoon.
3. Have never seen highlights of the kid, but if Chapel Hill fans are happy, then I am upset.

@TheFarmFan I think you're going to like Wheeler on the Cardinal roster. Comes out of the same prep program that developed Serah Williams. The program director has extensive Canada Basketball experience as a former player himself.
