Why would anyone want to go to the ACC when the Big 12 is in play?If we get accepted into ACC will it be with USF?
You lost me at the first "C". You must realize there are two chances of us ever getting in that conference, slim and none, and slim has virtually no chance of happening, so we're looking at no way, no how. That conference has slammed its doors to us for over a decade, and the way is shut.If we get accepted into ACC will it be with USF?
Because it's the better overall conference with many of our traditional Big East rivals, most games are in our time zone. This whole "the ACC will be raided" thing is just nonsense at this point. There's no school that would leave the ACC for the Big XII and probably three Big XII teams (Cincy, WVU and UCF) that would prefer the ACC.Why would anyone want to go to the ACC when the Big 12 is in play?
I was looking at the FAU and FIU enrollment numbers last and was amazed to find FAU at 30k and FIU at 45k. Not sure how many commuters, but kind of mind blowing that FAU is as big as UConn and FIU is 1.5x. Soooo many people in FL.UF and FSU are coming strained by size. They aren’t going to have 60k-70k enrolled. And those in-state HS kids want to stay in-state. Gotta put them somewhere.
Well, Syracuse, BCU, and Pitt are opponents that we have a history with. For basketball fans, games against Duke and North Carolina our attractive. Staying on the East Coast feels closer distance wise. I can see why it's attractive to people. Why would anyone want to go to the ACC when the Big 12 is in play?
I think adding UConn would do wonders for the struggling ACC channel.Well, Syracuse, BCU, and Pitt are opponents that we have a history with. For basketball fans, games against Duke and North Carolina our attractive. Staying on the East Coast feels closer distance wise. I can see why it's attractive to people.
On the other hand, they have historically shown no interest in adding us. My attitude is whoever makes the first binding offer is the winner. I'm not holding my breath though.
I believe acceptance to Florida schools is determined, to some extent, by lottery. That way, all of the highest achievers don't end up at UF. In the interest of balance, they intentionally spread the wealth such that every school in the system gets a quota of superior students.I'm no expert on Florida and its schools but all of those big FL Universities are part of the State University System of Florida. Times are changing and perhaps UCF, USF, FAU, FIU, FGCU have an advantage over the traditional UF and FSU - Location. For many college degrees, there really isn't a big difference where you go to school, so why not stay closer to home or if you are out of state, attend a nicer location. It seems to me Location would be a big factor.
It will be with the flying pigs from frozen hell.If we get accepted into ACC will it be with USF?

Incredible you get this kind of attitude from an average football program like Utah. You would’ve thought they were Alabama. Hey B12: UConn would be endlessly grateful for the opportunity to be in the Big 12.
Quick, get Benedict to publicly praise the B12Utah AD Mark Harlan fined $40,000 for ripping referees and the Big 12 after loss to BYU
After Utah’s last-minute 22-21 loss to archrival BYU late Saturday night, Utes athletic director Mark Harlan took to the microphone to criticize not only the game’s officials, but the Big 12 Conference itself.
They were words he’ll have to pay for — literally.
Harlan has been fined $40,000 by the Big 12 and will be the subject of a public reprimand for his actions, the league announced Sunday. The conference added that Harlan has been warned that "a repeat of such behavior will result in a more serious penalty."
“Mark’s comments irresponsibly challenged the professionalism of our officials and the integrity of the Big 12 Conference,” Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark said in a statement. “There is a right way and a wrong way to voice concerns. Unfortunately, Mark chose the wrong way. Accordingly, this violation warrants a public reprimand and financial penalty. The Big 12 Conference prioritizes professionalism, integrity, and fairness, and will continue to do so.”

Mark is wrong in this case.Mark isn’t wrong. It’s amazing how officials get away with such unprofessionalism an incompetence.
Incredible you get this kind of attitude from an average football program like Utah. You would’ve thought they were Alabama. Hey B12: UConn would be endlessly grateful for the opportunity to be in the Big 12.
Correct, it's impossible to call a perfect game. But I do think the game situation requires consideration. BYU was dead. 4th and 10 backed up against its goal line. Quarterback is sacked almost for a safety. In that situation, a very questionable call brings BYU up from the grave.Mark is wrong in this case.
Not sure refs are unprofessional- if they're on the "take", then yes.
Do they make mistakes, yes. Just like anybody else. I challenge anyone to try to call a perfect game. Impossible given the speed of the game and the details of the rules.
I don’t care how bad the officiating might be you don’t say “we hate being in this conference” out loudYeah incredible that a program would expect competent officiating. The gall of these people.
Their football coaches first press conference after the announcement was him complaining that they werent in the B1G and that they would be soon and the Big XII was just a stopgap.I don’t care how bad the officiating might be you don’t say “we hate being in this conference” out loud
Those were the magic words, right? It's one thing to question calls in a game. It's usually fine-worthy if you go too far and certainly if you question the overall quality of the refs. But to actually say you're upset about being in the conference you just joined fully warranted the fine and absolutely shows Utah did NOT want to join the Big 12.I don’t care how bad the officiating might be you don’t say “we hate being in this conference” out loud
The hold on Marrion was a good call.Yeah incredible that a program would expect competent officiating. The gall of these people.
