Correct question:Why is a Nebraska sports editor and columnist thinking about UConn?
Lol 10 wins? If the football team wins 8 there will be a parade!!Brohm will be a lifer at Louisville.
He is a very innovative offensive coach....a lot of Uconn fans would be thrilled with 10 win seasons on a regular basis.
He's a total UConn hater. He pretty much hates everything that isn't the B1G.Genetics56 falls in a tier lower than non-key tweets.
I thought he was saying to add UConn for basketball and a scheduling agreement for football. That is what I say No to.I’ve actually noticed a few places lately, that UConn is not expected to want to leave the Big East because of our obvious success. That may be why the guy above mentioned a scheduling agreement. He may think that we would not be interested in a diluted ACC. I’m not sure the people saying this stuff are really considering the financial aspects of it, but even during March madness, it was mentioned that we just belong in the Big East and that’s our identity. Given that Syracuse and Boston College have completely lost their identity, it isn’t crazy thinking. These guys just fail to consider the finances when saying this stuff.
Maybe, either way, he doesn’t understand our motivations. There are even scenarios where people predict the endgame and show Notre Dame and us as the last two independents. That’s clearly because they think that we would never give up our Big East affiliation, especially to join a non-power conference. It just kind of seems like the average Joe might think we’re very comfortable in the Big East and as a football independent. Remember, a lot of these people think we don’t care about football so their assumption that the Big East is paramount to us is understandable.I thought he was saying to add UConn for basketball and a scheduling agreement for football. When I first read the tweet, this is what I interpreted as well. But then I read it again and felt like he was saying UConn basketball would stay in the big east but football would have a schedule agreement. Now I’m leaning back towards a basketball only invite. He doesn’t elaborate well on this viewpointI thought he was saying to add UConn for basketball and a scheduling agreement for football. That is what I say No to.
Of course. All I’m saying is that there’s this narrative among many that we don’t even want to leave the Big East. I presume it’s because most schools don’t win anything and we pile up major titles in the Big East. They probably think, “Why would they rock the boat?” Especially, when they perceive that we don’t care about football for some reason.Wouldn’t we be less likely to leave the Big East if all they gave was a scheduling agreement for football?
It’s insulting to think we would leave for less.
That narrative could be due to the fact that the loudest noisemakers on UConn twitter wanted no part of the Big12 AND you have a guy like Chris Murphy mouting off opposition against leaving the Big East publicly.Of course. All I’m saying is that there’s this narrative among many that we don’t even want to leave the Big East. This guy is clueless as far as market value part goes. We’ve won out in these studies multiple times when conferences conducted them and the info got out. UConn is the only school left with any decent value to a conference. Memphis is second and USF third. Tulane is too small to replace anyone.
The ACC has no market penetration in Boston and barely any in New York. It’s all been squandered.
And we would change that....we would give the ACC critical mass in NY and NE to make a difference again.Of course. Told you guys Tulane and USF would blow past us.
