LOL wrong ... SEC and B10 have mentioned big12 zero times and have included them in their meetings and mergers zero times. B12 is not part of the discussion they are ripe for the picking too. Yormark clearly knows this which is why he was trying to emphasize Bball ... Big12 Presidents think they matter more than they do football wise. Adding ASU and Arizona moved the needle zero football wise ...Tick Tock.

Oh, I could see them sharing a piece, just not a meaningful piece. For example I could see ready a basketball tournament with more than just P2 members invited. Invitees would receive a share of the profit, not anything approaching an equal share mind you, but more than getting through the NCAA.

I don't know, getting a half billion dollars from FSU seems like it might help to stabilize the ACC. Everyone who's not foolish enough to replicate FSU mistake gets a nice annuity.

It won't be anywhere near 1/2 a bill.
It will be the largest buyout ever but it will end up somewhere around $100m. And then 3-5 other schools will quickly follow suit.

...that ESPN had the option to not continue the ACC contract beyond 2026.
...FSU is doing its level best to make ESPN think about non renewal under current rates. Convincing ESPN that FSU is leaving, hang the cost, gives a look at a conference that might be devalued. Especially if there is coat tail rider...or two.

None of which involved the buyback of a GOR.
The exit fee is three times the operating budget so that's 130 million right there. FSU Current estimate of that plus the GOR Is that 572 million dollars.

When FSU found out that the ESPN contract was not guaranteed past 2026....they found an opening.
The ACC likes to say that they have programs rights until 2036...But...the GOR plainly says that they only are assigned such rights as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the ACC contract.
FSU wants to pay the Exit fee and negotiate the remaining two years of the guaranteed contract.
By the By...the ACC only receives Exit fee monies if FSU leaves...
Any "rights" monies go to ESPN who has leased those rights...it is an odd situation...ESPN did not sign the GOR and no school signed a contract with ESPN. This is all about ESPN yet ESPN is silent standing in the corner like a mobster's goon at a "sit down" with a rival.

As the FSU BOT Chair has said...if it was only $150 million, we would have sent our letter giving notice.
This is all about negotiating an amount...The ACC must fight with extreme prejudice for it is an existential battle for their survival.

L Grant of Rights. It has been that for a few decades...in the last 30 years, only FSU and Clemson (and Miami in 2001) have been the only not now Big Ten or SEC teams to win a NC.

Notre Dame is on the clock. Under the new agreement only conference teams can get a bye week in the playoffs and I believe that the wording suggests that conferences will get guaranteed multiple teams under certain stipulations.
The SEC and B1G will most likely get multiple bids for 12 slots so they can get more money per team in the playoffs.
Guessing 3 to 4 teams each for the power 2, which only leaves a few more conference spots and the Norte Dame to pick up scraps.
ND to the B1G is my guess.

Notre Dame doesn't have to risk playing a highly ranked team in a conference championship game which could knock them out of the playoffs. Now, they get to end their season as always on the West Coast and then can recruit for several weeks while prepping to host a playoff game in their stadium. There's a good chance that a southern team will have to travel to Notre Dame Stadium in late December to play in a playoff game. Then there's the recruiting advantages of hosting a playoff game in your stadium. At seven at-large bids it should work in their favor.
