You know, I've wondered about that. If Yormark took a tour of Werth and Burton, how can it be kept a secret? Wouldn't coaches, players, cafeteria workers, and janitors have seen it?
IDK- but others knew… others beside Russ that is…

How many people would have known who he was before all this?

jonathan.jpgHmmmm, maybe he got dressed up that day....

Because it seemed like he was definitive in his second and third statements yet only a handful of people on the planet would know this to be true or not and those 5 people are the truest insiders of all.
He didn't say anything that would make one think he had inside info. That strong a conclusion on this matter is said all the time, with no pushback. As long as it's optimistic.

I personally wish the Yormark visit never leaked (thanks Russ from UConn Twitter). It just gave the UConn haters, and damn there are a lot of them, to look for every way to trash the school and program. Whole thing has become tiresome.
Seriously hearing all the talk from people who's schools aren't even close to us (Memphis fans mostly) is so tiring, they don't have anything past "you have terrible football" like with 3-4 ADs, 3 head coaches, and 2 interim coaches in a decade stretch? You try to reasonably compete literally no program can, hell even in our men's basketball we weren't competent until Hurley, we finally have the stability thank god.

Somewhat agree, on the other hand, the narrative appears to be changing.

Could something happen this week?

1) D'Amelio saying he's headed to UConn tomorrow.
2) Rucker Park is on Tuesday. (However, Yormark is in Italy according to the Colby Daniels & Dusty Dvoracek podcast, so he won't be there to make an announcement).
3) There was that podcast with Colby Daniels & Dusty Dvoracek where they said that something is going to happen next week.

PAC12 Media Day is Friday…

The Yormark visit wasn't meant to be kept quiet. If Russ and others knew, it's almost surely because those within the B12 and UConn who leaked it wanted them know and for it to come out.

Yormark would not have travelled all the way to Storrs to tour the facilities and meet with folks, in full view of anyone who happens to be there, without knowing that his presence would make it out to the public.

Here’s the reality. It doesn’t matter that Yormark’s visit to UConn got out. Bottom line, Yormark is operating on a different level than the folks in the Big XII. His briliance in wrapping up their media deal early—when the conference board wanted him to wait—was genius. The media landscape has changed since then and he beat the clock. The PAC is suffering for having waited.
Yormark is the proverbial chess player with a vision that is leaps and bounds ahead of his flock. If he thinks UConn is critical to his vision of what the Big XII will become, no one in the conference will stop it from happening.
It’s all in his hands. And I like it that way.

Arguably key. The guys knows how social media works, and the timing is...interesting.
He could just be here to promote the D'Amelio collective. (But it made me stop and say "hmmm" as well.)

Respectfully disagree. Some people are connected. Quite a bit of smoke out there and there is legitimate interest. Will it lead to an invite? Hopefully we will know soon.
Has smoke ever led to anything? Most conference moves have been complete surprises.
