So--let me get this right.
The B12 media partners have no specifically desired 13 and 14. It can be 2 of any 4.
So ESPN told them, choose from Houston, Memphis, UConn and UCF--it doesn't matter to us.
Also, what is this stuff about "Qualifying?" What the hell does that mean?
I would expect it means actual votes, but the next sentence implies something different. Something about requirements. So--this makes absolutely no sense.
Which is why Moose is full of it.
My guess would be that "requirements" and "qualifying" both refer to the number of votes needed to approve membership. Eight votes "qualifies" a school, as per Big 12 voting requirements. Maybe someone wants to propose a variation on the 8-vote-per-school requirement - maybe a reduction to 7 votes, if it is known (for example) that two schools can get to 7, and eight schools would be happy with the outcome. (For example, a Houston/UConn combo or a Houston/UCF combo might satisfy eight schools. Or UConn/UCF. I don't know.) Maybe there's another variation being suggested, too.
