Non-Key Tweets

I'm not sure plenty would be the right word, but a good amount, yes. The problem is it'd be a Sunday and the majority of those places are metered and would be running all day through 8pm. For those who end up driving up, I know of a few places in the Kenmore/Fenway area that you can park for free all day with no meters with easy T access to get down to BC. When the time comes next year I'd be happy to show anyone driving up where to look for that.

That's why you need to park on the residential streets. Everything above Washington Street is free parking 24/7, and it's always available (excluding after a snowstorm).

Very unlikely we will join a conference. Even if we were left out of the playoffs fans(Alumni, which is all that matters) are content with our lot.

I'm not an Alumnus of ND but that seems to be common theme among them.

I can't wait until Notre Dame joins a conference and then finishes last in it. The smugness of Notre Dame fans is ludicrous.

Eh.

You say that now, but if a 1 loss ND were left on the outside looking in compared to a 1 loss and/or lower ranked conference champ, Fans will be singing a much different tune...

Also if The Irish went to the ACC and said, we'll join your conference but are keeping our TV $$$ and deal with NBC, the conference would still welcome them with open arms.

This is not the sentiment I've got from a well-connected ND family I know. They seem to think the writing is on the wall that it will happen at some point in the future.

I think there are some old school ND fans who think that Independence keeps ND special. Perhaps it once did, but the landscape has changed. Nobody is special now, including Notre Dame. They certainly have a huge following and are important, but they aren't remotely unique anymore. Cable TV exposure has changed all that. They need to come to that realization if they haven't.

True I am just going off what is being said now.. But a lot of the hyperactive indy or bust big donors won't change.

I am actually more open to the idea because we aren't really indy anymore anyway.

Because I'm thinking that eventually ND will have to join a conference and they'll need a partner.
You're killin' us Funster.... Saying "ND will eventually join a conference" is like saying Beetle-juice three times in a row ;).

"Smugness" has as much to do with ND's desire to remain a football independent as it does with UConn's desire to join the Big Ten.

In both instances, such a prospect is perceived to be in the school's best interests and is the overwhelming choice of the school's administration, alumni and fan base.

Also, I think the whole " 1 loss team in the playoff" issue is overstated. I don't think that a one loss ACC member ND team has a much (if any) greater chance at the playoff than a one loss independent ND team.

Not enough to throw away 127 years of football independence, anyway.

A one loss FSU team last year (for instance) would not have been in the playoff, despite being in a football conference.

There does not seem to be an overwhelming, greater benefit to ND in joining a football conference than staying with the status quo.

I wish UConn all the luck in the world in obtaining a P5 bid. But, I don't think that ND's status has or will have anything to do with that.

ND used to be the most important game on the schedule.

Now its the most important non-conference game on the schedule.

Navy just lost to ND and they don't care. They want to win the conference. And beat Army.

The Selection Committee all but hit the Big XII in head with the fact that a 13 game vs. A high level opponent late in the season is quite important.

Not sure what this has to do with anything. But, ask Clemson about that.

Dabo Swinney said that " Jesus couldn't buy a ticket".

The ND game was the biggest game at Clemson in years. Don't believe me, go to their blogs, boards and articles.

Been asked...here is answer.
Once Deregulation passes need to expand to 12 to have CCG is gone...so B12 gains a little juice on leverage

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 4h4 hours ago
B12, before going into deep weeds on final negotiations with final candidates, will so when it gets its strongest hand....after deregulation

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 4h4 hours ago
The need "not to have to go to 12"...gives the ability for B12 to walk from table on candidates..this is called leverage.
I hope that helps

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 4h4 hours ago
But B12 will expand...just not during/over the hammer to increase for having/holding CCG purposes. This is called dealing from weakness.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 4h4 hours ago
Bowlsby and B12 Presidents will wait for deregulation...and play tough with candidates when it comes to near term slices of B12 pie

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 4h4 hours ago
So why expand anyways if deregulation passes?
Because Boren (and others) want it to increase Footprint...to push for UT dump ESPN in future.

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 4h4 hours ago
First step Boren wants expansion...second he wants B12 Network.
Chances for step 1?.....is very good.
Chances for step 2?.....dismal

Greg Flugaur ‏@flugempire · 4h4 hours ago
So yes...in B12 negotiations with deemed candidates it won't happen until deregulation has passed.
I hope this helps.

@CoogFans last I heard it will come in Jan 2016

Big east

Want further evidence that the eastern footprint is important to the Big Ten Conference? As reporters exited a press conference with league commissioner Jim Delany they were handed a "save the date" for next year's media day — in Washington, D.C.

The Big Ten men's tournament will be held at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., after next season.

DeLaney has said for years now the future of the conference is east. Just wish he would tip his hand as to whether or not that's going to include additional expansion or if that just means building on new presence in NYC and DC.

Delany was at the NCAA regional between UConn and Michigan St at MSG. All he needs to go is to go to a basketball game at the RAC with Rutgers to see the difference between B1G basketball in NYC with UConn and without UConn.

Seems like an absolute no brainer to add UConn to the B1G for all sports but football. I guess that is not a great option for us, however from so many stand points it makes sense. UConn and the B1G would really give life to the B1G in NYC in mens and womens basketball. And we are obviously competitive in so much more.

This is the stupidest thing he's ever posted. The candidates they'll be "negotiating" with are stuck in terrible leagues and are desperate to get out. That's all the leverage the Big 12 could possibly need.

Can't say I have the info on that, but I know that certain cable providers throughout New England do not even carry ESPNNews. My buddy and his wife in Southern New Hampshire for instance couldn't get the game.

My mom in Cheshire does not get it, either.

F Clemson. they sell +80K tickets regardless of who they play. You should be pointing to Temple. That game is a sellout in Philly and everyone here knows that team routinely has trouble drawing numbers that include a comma

How many programs have one of these, a Basketball Champions Center?

I guess I never really got a good look at the Champions Center. Holy crap that place is impressive. I love the mirror design with the men's and women's sides. Geno's running out of space for more titles, NPOY banners and All-American Banners. May have to start putting those banners on a video screen that just keeps rotating through all the players.

I'd love to see how many of those sold out tickets were bought by ND fans.
