If this doesn't call for Conspiracy Kitty I don't know what does.

Conspiracy Kitty says:
Obviously Calhoun is "preparing the ground" for the coming UConn invasion. Get them thinking UConn. He is the master.

Trolls like him come here and play nice all the time, but almost everywhere you look they're bad mouthing UConn. him and those like him.

I just hope that the administrations at both Rutgers and WVU remember that it was UConn who touted for all sports inclusion in the Big East, because they're fan bases are full of ass hats that sheet on us on in the cyber world.

I've had fun going back and forth with him on his tweets...

I love the Ollie won with Calhoun's guys argument. I wonder what they'll be saying this time next year.

Keep in mind that Al is really a journalist. Take a look at this video and I think that you'll agree it's "simply wow."

go see what he just tweeted to me a little while ago...about how UCONN won a NC as a 7 seed because of Shabazz pulling a Kemba...

It is amazing how ill informed people can be, yet the profess to be experts. It seems that no other fans realize what the real size of our TV market is, nor the average income in the geography. There are only 20 DMA's larger than the CT market. When bundles give way to aka carte, let's see how much money Rutgers brings in from TV.

Our football team accomplished more in 7 years than Rutgers has in 100. Success on the field and new model makes us more attractive.

Rutgers is in the biggest DMA in the country, and is the flagship university of a large state with no other football schools. Almost every school would seem a small TV market in comparison. But UConn's TV market is larger than most of the P5.

Well that, and the fact that it's pretty obvious that UConn and Rutgers are needed to conquer the DMA. Rutgers sure as hell can't do it on its own.

Every time you let your guard down with Rutgers fans, they go ahead and post stupid ship like that. Granted, this is just one moron. But if this is truly the reflection of their fanbase, I can't think of a more silly collection of fans to poo poo our basketball program. Honest question: has Rutgers ever even made the NIT??? Their seasons are usually over on the first day of conference tourneys.

Truth is - UConn played Duke in their state and generated more buzz for a regular season hoops game than any RU game has generated in the past 50 years.

They cite the time they played in the NIT Final Four and there being a few thousand fans in red as one of their instances of "owning NYC"

if you want to be amused go see my back and forth with him...he accuses me of changing the subject when I bring up RU hoops history...then says good luck in a mid-major conference. Let's be honest we got screwed in CR..but that school acts like a mid-major athletic dept because they have been hemorrhaging money for so long they can't spend anything on facility upgrades. Rutgers Al is a tool plain and simple. I did tell him we missed him here though.

Sorry, I must have missed that one. We were too busy winning a NATIONAL championship that year.

I just went in and gave him some business too. Morons need to find their place.

They haven't been tty that long. They went to the Final Four in 1976 and beat UConn along the way but still that's pretty far back.

Yes New Brunswick does fall within the NYC DMA, barely. So does UConn Stamford.

RU opened the door to NYC basic tier subscriptions (we could have as well BTW) and is in a state with 9 million people crammed into it. As for RU being the only "football school" (and by that you mean FBS school, Princeton has a good local following and is decent place to see a game) you would be correct. But NJ also is home to the Giants and the Jets, which sucks up the vast majority of the potential football fan dollars.

Now at this point, I usually say that I rarely see RU magnets or flags around NJ, and while that is still true where I live, I am seeing a notable increase in it around the state. Such is the power of the Big 10 and, if we ever get in, I suspect that the Rent would become a tough ticket to get every fall.

I don't begrudge RU their "success" at all. They won the lottery and it will become increasingly apparent for them athletically and academically. I wish it were us, but good for them.

Al is an idiot, but he's harmless. He's a gypsy that gets driven off every board he lands on. For time being, he's not our problem.

RutgersAl is as indicative of the Rutgers fan base as Nelson Muntz is of yours. I read nothing he posts.

Rutgers made the semi-final of the NITs in 1967, losing to Walt Frazier and Southern Illinois. Then there was 1976, with a very good team. It's been lean, lean pickings since then.
