No worries. ND still in play.

ND football to the Big Ten is a fantasy that exists only in some Big Ten fans minds.

Huge Big Ten News in SBJ this morning: ESPN will share media rights with Fox through 2022-23. http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Journal/Issues/2016/06/20/Media/ESPN-Big-Ten.aspx…

Frank the Tank ‏@frankthetank111 11h11 hours ago
Frank the Tank Retweeted John Ourand

Total avg value per year for Big Ten rights with Fox, ESPN and CBS (hoops) is $440 million *without* BTN.

OKA The Chent‏@TheChent
Hey @frankthetank111, isn’t it time that the NCAA changed the (monumentally dumb) FBS and FCS names (since they’re both FCS now)?

Frank the Tank ‏@frankthetank111 10h10 hours ago
Frank the Tank Retweeted OKA The Chent

NCAA should have never changed them in the first place. Division I-A and I-AA were logical. Almost as bad as "tronc"

Kevin Noon‏@Kevin_Noon
@frankthetank111 How about Division 1-Leaders and Division 1-Legends?

Frank the Tank ‏@frankthetank111 10h10 hours ago
Frank the Tank Retweeted Kevin Noon

NCAA would love it. This group tried to tell us that the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament was actually the 2nd round

Frank the Tank ‏@frankthetank111 10h10 hours ago
ICYMI: New Big Ten deals for $440 million per year (avg) on Fox, ESPN and CBS (hoops). Doesn't include BTN revenue.

Benjamin King‏@BenjaminDKing
@frankthetank111 @Ourand_SBJ is this really that huge of a deal it pays each member about 31 million a year?

Frank the Tank ‏@frankthetank111 9h9 hours ago
Frank the Tank Retweeted Benjamin King

No, far from it. It might have reached close to that for ALL conference revenue (TV, bowls, NCAA Tourney, etc.)

Frank the Tank ‏@frankthetank111 9h9 hours ago
Frank the Tank Retweeted Benjamin King

Big Ten deal is JUST for the top tier TV contracts. BTN, bowls, NCAA Tourney and everything else is on top of that.

Frank the Tank ‏@frankthetank111 10h10 hours ago
Frank the Tank Retweeted Benjamin King

YES. It's massive. Remember that BTN isn't even included. Laps all other power conferences (including the SEC).

Benjamin King ‏@BenjaminDKing 9h9 hours ago
@frankthetank111 @Ourand_SBJ maybe I am looking at the $ differently but didn't the Big 12 just pay out a similar amount?

Nate Olsen ‏@coach_olsen 9h9 hours ago
@BenjaminDKing @frankthetank111 @Ourand_SBJ you don't understand.. The BTN will pay $10+M on top of the $31M Fox and ESPN are paying.

Benjamin King‏@BenjaminDKing
@coach_olsen @frankthetank111 @Ourand_SBJ but that is still less then UT makes with 15 mil from LHN and 30 mil from Big12, right?

Frank the Tank ‏@frankthetank111 9h9 hours ago
Frank the Tank Retweeted Benjamin King

Will need to see final figures, but Northwestern and Rutgers will likely make more than Texas even with LHN money.

Andrew Wamugi‏@AndrewWamugi
@frankthetank111 so how many days until Big Ten expansion rumors?

Frank the Tank ‏@frankthetank111 9h9 hours ago
Frank the Tank Retweeted Andrew Wamugi

We'll see, although flip side is monetizing expansion is harder. Beyond Texas and Notre Dame, who brings in enough?

Frank the Tank ‏@frankthetank111 9h9 hours ago
Frank the Tank Retweeted Andrew Wamugi

Schools like Oklahoma and Kansas might be more motivated to seek out Big Ten, but now bar is set even higher for B1G

the commish‏@anygivencommish
@frankthetank111 @AndrewWamugi ; we to the point where best way to further monetize expansion is to kill off a P5 conference?

Frank the Tank ‏@frankthetank111 9h9 hours ago
Frank the Tank Retweeted the commish

Well, if OU and KU were to leave the Big 12, then Texas would also likely leave and the Big 12 would effectively die

Matt Sarzyniak‏@mattsarz
@frankthetank111 Start w/page 16. I'm not sure if/when Texas gets to $15 million https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byz6Uzwv3AiuM2I3NjAzNGItOGFiMS00ZWZlLTkxYTAtZTMzMjhiMDJmYzY0/view…

Frank the Tank ‏@frankthetank111 9h9 hours ago
Frank the Tank Retweeted Matt Sarzyniak

From my calculations using the 3% escalator clause, Texas would get to $15 million in 2022.

Corneilus Green‏@CGreen63
@frankthetank111 Will ESPN still show the Big Ten Tournament or does Fox get that?

Frank the Tank ‏@frankthetank111 5h5 hours ago
Frank the Tank Retweeted Corneilus Green

Unclear about those details. CBS has semifinals and final, so my pure guess is that ESPN/Fox/BTN will split the rest

@jameslee2019 tv deal comes first there is language that deal increase based on new members. Same thing happened with MD and Rutgers.

This just isn't happening. The B12 is going to ride its generous tv contract to the end and during those final years then UT will find its parachute to either the B1G, PAC or as an independent. Regardless, I think what we learned from the B12 meetings is that those in the B12 are best served to ride their current contract out including UT.

I can't argue with any of this. The Big 12's contract is ridiculously overvalued as it's currently configured. All Big 12 schools, including OU to a certain extent, fall in line with whatever Texas wants. They know that Texas is the conference, and for 8 of them their P5 fortunes are tied to keeping Bevo fat and happy.

what else do you do? it's the same when people that suggest uconn should join the ACC or BIG. Really?
as if the offer is there and Uconn is thinking about it...

schools like baylor, TCU, and Texas Tech aren't going anywhere and have zero leverage. If Texas/OU leave, they ride out the last of the P5 contract and hope they can replace those schools with something that will retain their P5 status (they would likely backfill with AAC teams or maybe Boise/BYU) with the lure of a P5 tag. It's a process we've seen somewhere before.. Eventually, that reconstituted Big12 becomes the top dog with a G6 label and the P5 playoff structure is re-written for the P4 conferences.

it's amazing how fluid this process is and how obvious the end game is.

Many think that the end game is the evolving to a P4 league whose champs play it off.

One conference has to die....and it won't be the SEC, Big Ten, nor PAC 12.....as it was with with the ACC and the Big East, only one of the ACC and the Big 12 will survive in that scenario.

If that does happen, as GOR's expire....some programs would be dropped out...the question is...would others be added?

@Bluevodreal What is the current news on Big Ten expansion ... you have suggested the term news is better than rumor.

Bluevod ‏@Bluevodreal 4h4 hours ago
@FYOST active talks ongoing. FSU. Lawyers have given green light to ahead saying no teeth to GOR. Tv deals have expansion in them.

Woody Stover ‏@FYOST 4h4 hours ago
@Bluevodreal Thank you. Surprising. Among all schools you would think FSU would not be anywhere near the top of my list.

Bluevod ‏@Bluevodreal 3h3 hours ago
@FYOST well it is all about money and TV rev. FSU brings state of Florida. Tradition and old logic out the window now $$$$.

Tom ‏@TommyNole 1h1 hour ago
@Bluevodreal @FYOST FSU has more modern era tradition than any school mentioned.

@Bluevodreal ND - considering the BIG? Contacts at Carolina & Duke ... anything there - UVA? What about any Big 12 schools?

Bluevod ‏@Bluevodreal 3h3 hours ago
@FYOST Okl wants in Texas has been JD dream school and their is some new rumors about them. GT,UV,NC still talk. ND has gone quiet.

Woody Stover ‏@FYOST 3h3 hours ago
@Bluevodreal Again thanks. The switch from academic fit to $$ is interesting ... and I guess predictable. Again, thanks.

"TEXIT"

Is probably the most clever thing I've read from these guys in years.
That's actually not very original
I've been in political debates in my other persona on non sports boards over the possibility of TEXIT (as in succeeding from the US.)
That puts a whole new spin on CR if you need a visa to play Texas.

Not sure how well the U.S. will succeed if we don't know the difference between succeed and secede.

Sometimes fate has a different dictionary.....it thinks that to provide "succor" is something other than what it is supposed to be...

Any Tweets about the alleged ACC Network? Doesn't ESPN have to announce its creation by the end of the month? We're getting pretty close.

.-.
Spoiler Alert.

There isn't going to be an ACC network.

Sure there will be. Of course by network I mean a link on ESPN's Home page that takes you to a gif of Jordan's 83 Game winner playing on a continuous loop. Any time a new user visits the site every ACC School is awarded a virtual pat on the back from John Swofford and up to as many as 3 Skittles.

Wait! Are implying there will be an unequal distribution of Skittles?!?!?

GREG SW AIM ‏@GSwa im 11h11 hours ago
Ironically the reason Boren backed off of strong expansion stance is that #Sooners will go to #SEC, and #UT to #B1G, when GOR and #LHN end.

Aaron ‏@posas13 8h8 hours ago
@GSw aim @OmegaSupreme914 makes 100 pct sense. Boren's crusade died quietly and quickly. @Expansion_Crush

jessicalarson ‏@sooner2016 8h8 hours ago
@posas13 @OmegaSupreme914 @Expansion_Crush TX and OK aren't going to split up. Especially not with TX going to the B1G.

Aaron ‏@posas13 8h8 hours ago
@sooner2016 @OmegaSupreme914 @Expansion_Crush sure they will for the right payday.

jessicalarson ‏@sooner2016 8h8 hours ago
@posas13 @OmegaSupreme914 @Expansion_Crush no they won't. The Red River Rivalry meas everything for those two schools.

Michigan Recruiting ‏@MichOpinion 7h7 hours ago
@sooner2016 @posas13 @OmegaSupreme914 @Expansion_Crush they could still play the red river in diff conferences. look fl and fsu clem and sc

jessicalarson ‏@sooner2016 7h7 hours ago
@MichOpinion @posas13 @OmegaSupreme914 @Expansion_Crush they want that game protected. It is protected by being in a conference together

Michigan Recruiting ‏@MichOpinion 7h7 hours ago
@sooner2016 @posas13 @OmegaSupreme914 @Expansion_Crush it can be protected out of the conference though as well..

jessicalarson ‏@sooner2016 7h7 hours ago
@MichOpinion @posas13 @OmegaSupreme914 @Expansion_Crush OOC games are not protected.

Michigan Recruiting ‏@MichOpinion 7h7 hours ago
@sooner2016 @posas13 @OmegaSupreme914 @Expansion_Crush then how do sc and clemson, and fsu and fl play every year? Because they value them.

jessicalarson ‏@sooner2016 7h7 hours ago
@MichOpinion @posas13 @OmegaSupreme914 @Expansion_Crush I can give plenty of games killed because they are not in same conference

jessicalarson ‏@sooner2016 7h7 hours ago

FSU, KU and OK to B1G

80% chance of KU and OK to B1G w/in 5 yrs per PSU insider Buafflo Lion (user handle). Gotta get Texas though.
