The Dude is the Walter Cronkite of fake realignment reporters. His imaginary sources are rigorously vetted by all 765 of his personalities.

Anyone on this board can do what he does. The Dude makes lukewarm predictions and backs them up with fake sources. When they don't come to fruition, he reminds everyone that these things are fluid. FWIW Flug is about the only guy who seems to have a real source, however he still makes a lot of assumptions based on the little bit of info he is given.

Flugaur has been saying for a while that FSU and Clemson are not on the Big 10's or SEC's radar now. They are looking for bigger fish.

Yeah but before the portal and NIL hecwas saying the big schools wanted to recruit right off other teams rosters. He nailed exactly how that was going to work. Could have been a lucky guess.

1. Make a bunch of predictions that aren’t consistent with no factual basis.

2. Post all of them publicly

3. One of the them pans out despite have zero evidence.

4. See! I was right. Never mind that the other 99 were wrong.

That’s the Tucker, Alex, Dude of WV, Flugaur, Swaim playbook.

A bunch of con men.

CR has been about markets, football, brands, and for the ACC crappy athletics on the west coast, etc.
People actually think FSU may not have a landing spot if it somehow escapes the GI Joe kung-phu grip of the ACC. No way the P2 pass on FSU when they have programs like Miss State and Rutgers in their ranks. It would make zero sense to pass on a program which brings in big time revenue.

That said, I would really love to see the Big 12 grow and be just as entertaining, if not more so, than the P2. Perfect world, UConn would be invited to the party too.

My evergreen reminder:

People behave strategically.

The B12-FSU/Clem rumor could be
(a) True
(b) Dangled by the B12 (or a member) to lure other ACC teams
(c) Dangled by the B12/Yormark to show its members it's working for them
(d) Dangled by FSU/Clem to make others believe they might be off the market soon
(e) None of the above

(A) seems the least likely to me

Problem with these Twitter dudes is they have no editor or journalism standards that would push them to get multiple sources and not getting played by a 'source' with an agenda.

There is a big difference between the p12 situation a year ago and today with the ACC. The ACC has a media deal with another year on it and it is very likely to get that deal extended at with an increase (albeit well short of the B1G and SEC) in the next year with espn. The p12 collapsed because it literally had no media deals and the clock was up. Maybe I am wrong, but I think ESPN would rather extend the ACC at a 30 per team level then let it collapse and have to pay more for most of the same schools in an expended power 3.

So the B-12's gambit is that they can convince more than half of the ACC to leave (allowing for those schools to dissolve the conference) just so that they can be part of a ridiculously large B-12, with basically everything else being similar?

A lot of this is people blowing smoke for the sake of blowing smoke.

I don't care what happens anymore, including with us, as long as Cuse and BC get left behind and feel the pain deep. Also likely gives us annual regional hate games.

I think the Big 12 wants to become "too big to fail." They've determined that there will be 3 power conferences and they are determined to be number 3. Maybe seeing their potential demise with the losses of Missou, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and A&M allowed them to be more unified in going after the PAC and ACC.

The Big 12 is A (not THE) bad guy here. They helped blow up the PAC by taking enough schools that others had to follow or be left behind. They could do the same with the ACC.

I personally can't see UConn getting a full spot in the Big 12. I think they've been using us for years. But there may only be a handful of okay programs left in the ACC by the time the Big 12, Big 10 and SEC are done. I don't believe the Big 10 or SEC want to take on any ACC teams now, but they will.
