lock up bids with HUGE wins over Louisville & Marquette respectively. By Saturday as teams behind us jump over us nightly we will be in a bad place. We had chances and gave them away....need another deep MSG run or a win against a good team...not DePaul or Providence....F!#k!!!!!

And uconn will be playing UL in the 2nd round if they win.

Talk about nightmare.

Siva drives, kick out, 3s galore.

I think uconn was more neck and neck with USF, Seton Hall, and WVU. Cincy was already in I think. Of course, you have to give USF credit with back to back wins over Cincy and UL. I think everyone was predicting they'd finish the season 0-4.

Well that basically does lock it up for both teams cincy was already looking good and USF kno has what 12 be wins?..can't really leave them out know. Good news is Texas down double digits early at home vs Oklahoma and Ohio st up 10 at half vs northwestern.

Northwestern eye test for me is a tourney team but can def be left out. I watched them quite a bit this year and i think their a pretty solid team. Another team already in (vanderbilt) I am very impressed with they can def make noise in the tourney as well as wich st.

Really, I don't care if this team makes the tournament or not. They've squandered opportunity after opportunity all season long. There comes a time where you say, "Put me out of my misery already, I'm not going to keep falling into the trap".

This team has had opportunities for marquee wins all year long, and they've come up with very few. We came out flat against Marquette, we rolled over in the second half against Louisville and Georgetown, we dissolved in crunch time against Providence...just don't waste your time with this team. Give a bid to f'in Northwestern for all I care, just keep this team out.

I don't give a s*** what's happened to date - just do what you gotta do to get into the tournament and then see what happens from there. Back in, win their way in, cheat their way in...don't care. Get there.

However, I can't believe we're in the position of having to spend February 29th rooting against Colorado State.

Lunardi and Jerry Palm both had Cincy in even before the win vs Marquette. So that is not too shocking. Lunardi had USF as the first team "out" before their win tonight. Xavier blew a lead vs St. Louis last night as we were losing ours. Here is what Palm has to say about Uconn:

"Connecticut's late season swoon continued with a come-from-ahead loss at Providence. If you listen to the studio guy on TV at halftime, you would be lead to believe that the Huskies 5-11 record since New Year's was important. It's not. The committee has de-emphasized how a team finishes the season as a criteria, and no longer tracks such information on their team data sheets. Teams are judged on their entire seasons, and no particular weight is given to any one portion."

I hear ya it's been frustrating but at the same time I just want them to find a way in.Hopefully they turn it on in the BE tourney but this team hasn't beat anyone in months and as of right know doesn't deserve to be in. We keep losing the "must win" or "lock it up win" and here we are still in Lanardi's bracket.
In other news bubblicious Miss st tied with south carolina 60-60 a Miss St. loss will help all bubble teams.

You know what this team reminds me of? You're not gonna wanna hear it...but, 2009-10. We saw that group make the same head scraching mistakes, but yet they proved they could compete with any team in the country. Same way with this team. They are just unable to execute on either end of the floor consistently, and that's just not going to be good enough against the best teams. 75% of the time, this team is just fine, but then there is the other 25% of the time where they go into a funk, they make dumb mistakes on defense, and all of the sudden, a two point lead is a 12 point deficit. Look no further than like any of our last four games.

With the 09-10 team, we kept hoping they would wake up, that they would maintain their focus for a full 40 minutes. It never happened. They always let inferior teams hang around, they fell behind too frequently against good teams, and often, their late game rallies came up just short. The South Florida game that season was when I lost all hope with that team, and last night was when I lost all hope with this team. I'm just going to try to enjoy the rest of the college basketball season and hopefully this madening bunch won't be part of it for much longer.

Didn't think i would have to but I will root for the bubble teams to lose. But, I think if UConn wins vs pitt and two in the BE they will be in. Anything less it will be very close.

Yea miss st loses and their prettymuch out unless a deep sec run. O well like i said in the previous post UConn can still get in without help if they win 3 or more games.

Only so many bids to go around...I saw tonights schedule with so many bubble teams playing and thought it could be a good night for Uconn...it could not have gone worse so far. I told myself I wasn't going to bubble watch after last night, just can't help myself....please stop the insanity.

Other bubble teams like who? Miss State was already in Lunardi's last projection. Xavier lost the other night, St. Joes lost tonight, Northwestern is losing tonight, Texas is down 4 at half....so much can happen. Uconn HAS to win Saturday or they are done but right now they are right in the middle of the hunt.

Yea miss st and USF wins hurt. I think if csu loses tonight their done without a deep run in their conference tourney. Bad news is their playing at home and it's a winnable game vs a top 25 team. I will be watching.

I agree VUCE the bubble is weak non matter what happens. Some will play their way in some will play their way out and UConn has to be one of the teams that plays itself in. 3 wins and in starts this sat at home.

Miss st was listed behind us in Lunardi projection...they have now passed us...that's the point...teams passing us. It's all speculation but he is usually fairly close.

We've only had teams around/ahead of us win. This is Lunardi's projection as of this morning, and those teams' results tonight. For us to miss the tournament, we need 8 teams to overtake us. Mississippi State is one of them, and their losing would have helped. South Florida's win probably also allowed them to leapfrog us. But some of the teams that are OUT need to win also, and they are all falling by the wayside. The only one of those who can do some damage tonight is Colorado State.

35 - Southern Miss (won vs. dreadful Southern Methodist)
36 - Cal
37 - Cincy (won vs. #7 Marquette)
38 - Alabama (won vs. lousy Auburn)
41 - Arizona
43 - Seton Hall
44 - us
45 - WVU
46 - Mississippi State (won @ dreadful South Carolina)
47 - BYU
48 - Miami (close game @ NC State)
49 - Texas (close game vs. bad Oklahoma)
50 - Northwestern (down 7 with 4 to play against Ohio State)
51 - USF (won @ #18 Louisville)

69 - Xavier
70 - St. Joe's (lost in 2OT @ Bonnies)
71 - VCU
72 - Colorado State (hosts #17 UNLV)
73 - Oregon
74 - Colorado
75 - Dayton (lost @ Richmond)
76 - NC State (close game vs. Miami)
77 - Illinois
78 - New Mexico St.
79 - Ohio (lost @ Kent State)
80 - UCF
