I'm pretty sure we already downgraded football. If you downgrade football you'll never get an invite to anything better than the A10
Did you see Mike Brey's comments about the C7 taking the Big East name?
Really Mike? How do you define "carrying the flag"?

I laughed, then thought... oh they just might sell the naming rights to the conference for a few extra dollars... the Nationwide Conference (on the bright side), Google Conference, GoDaddy.com Conference, YouPorn.com Conference... I'm just going to barf on myself now, excuse me.Pets.com

Compare us to the top of the MAC, not the bottom. Show some pride. We're at UMass's level?

It can still get worse. I think it is 50/50 SMU or Houston ever play a game in the Big East. The only reason they will play in the NNBE is if the MWC won't have them.
Was literally going to suggest this. Need to get some money somewhere....I laughed, then thought... oh they just might sell the naming rights to the conference for a few extra dollars... the Nationwide Conference (on the bright side), Google Conference, GoDaddy.com Conference, YouPorn.com Conference... Don't need anything that can rhyme with "LEAST".We provided several great choices over the last year. SunBeast has grown on me.
With Tulane, maybe "Who Dat?" since nobody will know what it is or who is in it.
Is any conference using "The Big Dumpster"?
Whatever they name it, they need to pay close attention to what it will ultimately be called by the masses and the media. The Atlantic Coast Conference is never referred to as that. It's the ACC. The Southeastern Conference is the SEC. So let's be careful. Those of you who are familiar with Insurance giant CIGNA might be interested to know that when the merger first occurred between Connecticut General and Insurance Company of North America (INA) the new name selected and trumpeted was North American General. It was only after the geniuses realized it abreviated to NAG and after faxes flew with employee suggestions for logos (I loved the swayback mule) that they went back to the drawing board, shuffled the letters CG and INA and created CIGNA .
