Sure, if I accept your premise that they can’t compete in the best G5 but I don’t. And if you support an all sports invite to the B12, it doesn’t make a very convincing to B12 presidents to argue at the same time that we’ll be competitive there because the long trips there are only 2000 to 2500 miles, even it’s for virtually every sports team (including FB) - not just 4 or 5 FB games. What good is 5-8m per year if we going 3-9 every season because the travel has zapped our recruiting? The next 5 years for UConn football is about wins above anything. Must change the narrative with winning. Must be winning!
Also, no point joining the P12 when we are on the doorstep of the B12. If the B12 plans go bust by 2030, then its a whole new situation.

Can’t justify the BE exit fee for the p12 and too risky to our recruiting momentum.Sure, if I accept your premise that they can’t compete in the best G5 but I don’t. I’m not familiar with BE exit fee rulesCan’t justify the BE exit fee for the p12 and too risky to our recruiting momentum.
Meanwhile, if we get into the B12, we will at least have a seat at the power table and eventually revenue to offset the travel pain. No doubt, the B12 does bear some risk- but it’s worthwhile vs the P12 risk.
I’m not familiar with BE exit fee rules
but why would there be exit fees for moving football? FB isn’t in the Big East.
B12 (any P4) is clearly the goal but Uconn has to get an invite first. And at this point, I think showing FB commitment by winning in a top G5 is what they need to make the case for a P4 invite. Demonstrated success there should clearly position UConn ahead of Memphis, Tulane, UNLV, WSU, SDSU, USF for an invite. Otherwise, some will have the FB edge over UConn.
I don’t expect UConn to get a PAC invite anyway, but if they do and can negotiate low or no exit fees, it may be the opportunity to definitely prove they’re next in line.
Yep ....the BYU approach, already tried the Houston, Cincy, UCF plan and failedAgree with Exit 4 for different reasons. We are in the process of establishing an identity. That identity involves having a winning FB program that is Independent. A few years of 10-2 or 9-3 with a decent bowl win and our new identity is solidified. Does it lead to the golden ticket? Who knows? It certainly has more cache than what we were the decade from 2014-2023.
I think UConn could move football to a conference without any penalty from the Big East.I’m not familiar with BE exit fee rules

So big news coming next April. I knew it!!!I think UConn could move football to a conference without any penalty from the Big East.
If UConn moved to a new all sports conference, UConn would have a high exit fee:
Years 1 through 6 = $30 million
Years 7 to 10 = $15 million
After year 10 = $10 million
So, after this upcoming basketball season, the exit fee drops in half to $15 million.
Can’t justify the BE exit fee for the p12 and too risky to our recruiting momentum.

I have no idea what that wording means. I assumed they were trying to say that had the current 8 PAC 12 schools played together as a conference for the past 4 years, these would have been the PAC 12 results. Maybe it's a west coast thing. When it says "Over the last four seasons considering and comparing to future conference compositions (as of May 2025) beginning with the 2026 season, the new Pac-12 has had:"
What does that mean? Did they take out the results of the schools that left and add in the new schools?
