We have five teams in the tourney more than the ACC or AAC don’t understand…..Memphis as a 5 is fine maybe they were a 6 but St Johns as a two and five teams in is better than we thought. Personally I think we are a better team than Marquette but everyone loves Shaka. Maybe they had a better resume but we are better. If we played then 100 times we beat then 60 times imo.The AAC getting more love than the BE. Who woulda thunk it?
The conference won more than 75% of games against other high majors this season. The 10th best team beat St. John's straight up. The 13th best team (by conference record), Oklahoma, our next opponent, beat the 3rd best ACC school, the 3rd best Big 12 school, and the 3rd best team in the Big Ten in the non-conference.14 sec teams is an insult to college basketball.
20 minutes.Anyone know when game times are determined?
It's like people don't watch games outside of UConn...The conference won more than 75% of games against other high majors this season. The 10th best team beat St. John's straight up. The 13th best team (by conference record), Oklahoma, our next opponent, beat the 3rd best ACC school, the 3rd best Big 12 school, and the 3rd best team in the Big Ten in the non-conference.
Memphis is without Hunter they believeMEMPHIS IS A 5 are you kidding
I think we can take Oklahoma as Fears is dar and away their best player and we can bottle up him like Dixon.I don't hate our match up with Oklahoma, but we might as well not take the floor against Florida. That will be a slaughter
That's a pretty solid 8 teams to pick if you are a gambling man. It's too hard to pick the upsets like 4s or 5s sneaking in and to pick anyone against those 8.ESPN talking heads pretty much went all chalk with 1-2 seeds making the final 8.
Almost all had 4 #1 in the final4, which rarely happens.
And Florida as the winner
Good for Diarra, Johnson, and the team considering it’s still Ramadan.9:25pm Friday, damn we have to wait a long time
And that's Ian Eagle, not Noah. Lead CBS pbp guy.
Of course they are. You can't win a national championship without beating UConn. So everybody on college game day picking Florida to win it all.
To play Louisville in what will be a home game? No thank you.I kind of wish we got Creighton's spot.
Only compaison I can make is to UConn in 2011 when the Big East was considered the best conference ever that season. UConn 2011 we beat 9 ranked teams before the tournament, won the conference tournament and finished 26-9 to get a 3 seed. Kentucky beat 8 ranked teams but only beat 1 team in the conference tournament and finished 22-11 to get a 3 seed.Kentucky beat 5 top 10 KenPom teams this year, includng Duke, Florida, and Tennessee twice. 3 seed is fine (like 90% of the brackets on the matrix had them as a 3).
They didn't lose a single game against a team that wasn't in at least the comittee's first four out.
Oh ye of little faithDon't like our draw. OU is better than their record and Florida will murder us if we best Sooners
Maybe next year they can surpass FiFA?The NCAA has become more corrupt than the International Olympic Committee.
Really? I love it. Get to enjoy Thursday and most of Friday before we play.Another crappy late start. Hate that slot.
Is the 9:25 start confirmed? I’ve seen it listed at 1245 and 715 as well
Xavier/Texas on Wednesday is gonna be a fun watch - two teams we played.Big East fared well. Got 5 teams in. Last year only 3.
There's an inferiority complex here about the Big East and even about UConn which blows my mind considering we have the best program in the country and the Big East is a damn good basketball conference.1. The amount of whining here is pathetic. We talked about it for a few weeks. We were on the 8/9 line. It will take our A game to beat Florida. Guess what? It would also take our A game to beat any of the ones or twos. That's the nature of the tournament. As @AntG168 said we don't have to beat Florida in a 7 game series. Just for 40 minutes. Scared of playing them? Go find something else to do. Have some pride.
2. For the people who though the BE got screwed...what is wrong with you? As @superjohn said, no they didn't, with the exception of Creighton, who has to play an 8 seed in a road game. I thought Xavier deserved to get in, but they could have easily been left out. The seeds were all about what we predicted.
3. I think Oklahoma is a good team, but there are better teams that could have been a 9.
4. If, if we can get to the Florida game, I think we will play well. All the pressure shifts to the 1 seed, especially with the idea of ending the streak of the two time champ. We keep that game close, and we will see what kind of moxy Florida has.
