Not sure about them being favorites or not but all I have read about him is how he beats "better" teams to get to the FF which I guess is true but his teams generally don't close the deal. In 1999, 2011 and 2014 uconn was an underdog at some point in the FF and won. They may have even been an underdog in 2004 against Dook. In 2009 MSU had a virtual home game in the final. His coaching should overcome the underdog thing more in the FF. As you said his rosters are similar to Uconns. We are 8-1 in the FF since 1999 as you know.

Maybe. But he's been to 7 in 20 years. We've only been to 5.

Duke took 37 free throws. MSU took 16, half of those in the last few minutes when game was decided. Refs had nothing to do with it though.

I don't know if you watched the game or what but the refs weren't much of a factor. The team that attacks the bucket gets rewarded. A nice run for MSU but they just ran into a team with more weapons.

Sam Dekker might be the best player on the floor tonight.

Not sure how he is only a junior. Feel like he's been there forever. He's great.

As good as Izzo is, if you don't count his championship in 2000, he will be 1-6 in the FF if MSU loses this I think
Izzo gets teams that have no business in the Final Four into the Final Four. That is why he is 1-6.

Teams attack the basket more when they know the whistle will blow in their favor and less when they know they are not getting the whistles.

Kaminsky has great hands and an otherworldly nose for the ball. If Brimah had a tenth of that instinct, he'd be a lottery pick.

Plus he really fights for rebounds, like on that last defensive possession before the timeout.

Doesn't hurt he's a big dude, unlike 215 Brimah

I'm shocked Cal hasn't changed the way they defend flat ball screens after what Notre Dame did to them last week.

Actually I'm not, cause it's Cal, but still.

Save you breath/typing fingers
Doesn't make a difference that Valentine had two huge mystery fouls called against him - if Big Ern says the refs paid no part they played no part

Wow, I had on what must've been the UK home broadcast by mistake for a few minutes (TNT). My God it was awful. Nothing's a foul on UK, everything's a foul on Wisky (e.g. "Dekker is whistleproof.) And both guys are a snore.

Last couple empty possessions for Wisconsin hurt their momentum, had s chance to really apply pressure and push to double digits. Settled for a pair of bad looks instead.

Anyone else catch the commentary earlier where they said Cal didn't watch any footage of Wisconsin this week to prepare? Is anyone surprised?

A few uncharacteristic mistakes by the Badgers. It sucks that they're letting Kentucky stick around.

Wisconsin has got to do a better job of handling the Harrisons off the dribble, they're getting destroyed trying to contain dribble penetration.

And I would not trade our 5 trips to his 7.
Very true. He came away empty six times. We came away empty once.

That's lame. Many of Izzos teams were as good as our 2011 and 2014 teams. Right now he is the Bobby Cox of the NCAA Tourney
