When I tried to express the fact that I was frustrated a few days ago it became a feeding frenzy. Frustrated can be confused with angry when it is expressed in words and taken out of context or the real meaning is not represented in writing as well as it could be.Well said. Every fan base in the country who cares just as much about their program, in any sport, would feel this way. It's not just the BY. We're still great fans, the coaches aren't doing anything in practices to cause these injuries, dealing with injuries is out of anyone's control, especially ours. So....it just sucks. Sometimes things just suck
I get what you're saying, totally. Not sure there is much to be frustrated about, other than guys getting injured at all. But, yeah, it happens. Ask Geno. Best coach in the history of the game and he could barely field a team with all the injuries he's had. When I tried to express the fact that I was frustrated a few days ago it became a feeding frenzy. But emails and texts will never replace a conversation as much as those under 45 years old think it should. So message boards like this or any social media platforms become a very easy place to take comments and put another meaning into someone’s else’s written words.
Some of us are old enough to remember the old newspaper quotes where a reporter only put it part of a players quote or statement into an article. So it was not delivered in full context. Now electronic media allows for every written word to be taken out of context.
If you are a UConn basketball fan I would find it hard to believe that you would not be frustrated at the current situation. And unfortunately the longer it continues no matter what our BY experts say it will impact our chances down the road.
Yes we can maybe beat IL without Reed or Mullins playing, but that would mean Karaban or Ball would have to have very good games. We know Alex is limited as a feature go to guy and Ball is going through a confidence crisis so as a fan I will watch but until we put the team on the court we thought we had my expectations have been modified.
It does suck not to see us at full strength but we were fortunate to have no serious injuries in March during our back to backs so I would say lady luck has been on our side and we just have to be patient because when we’re at full strength, look out!Well said. The bolded part, however, I disagree with, especially considering that it is only November. Clingan was possibly the most important piece of the 2024 championship team and his injury had him out until mid January. They'll be fine. Better that Mullins misses as much time as necessary rather than rush him back like they potentially did with McNeeley last year.
Why would guys practice last couple of days and NOT play? If they are healthy enough to practice shouldn’t they be able to play…at least 10-15?This just got posted.... View attachment 113864
Right on.....it's like Cal Ripken never existed! Why would guys practice last couple of days and NOT play? If they are healthy enough to practice shouldn’t they be able to play…at least 10-15?
You have to see how their bodies respond after they have practiced. If hamstring or ankle gives them ANY problems they definitely won’t play. If their bodies are ok after practice then they will have them play. Why would guys practice last couple of days and NOT play? I’m gonna go out on a limb here and confidently say that they are not going to play tomorrow.Mullins has now practiced for over a week. Reed has not missed that much time to need extra time to get in game shape. They should both play tomorrow. Period.
Agree but if they practice and have a setback will likely be day 2 not day 4You have to see how their bodies respond after they have practiced. If hamstring or ankle gives them ANY problems they definitely won’t play. If their bodies are ok after practice then they will have them play.
I’d rather they wait until Friday, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.Mullins has now practiced for over a week. Reed has not missed that much time to need extra time to get in game shape. They should both play tomorrow. Period.
I bet you give the surgeon advice on how to do the cuttingMullins has now practiced for over a week. Reed has not missed that much time to need extra time to get in game shape. They should both play tomorrow. Period.
