Is "lack of poise" the new euphemism for assault?

"Assault? No assault your honor. We like to think
it was just an unfortunate lack of poise."

I was in Columbus for the final four sitting third row with the ND fans. I have been to 5 FF and tons of games UCONN has been the away team and i have never encountered such rude fans as those from ND. One fan heckled Lobo every time she walked by us. We were very close to the court. Even Muffets husband sat in front of us and was escorted out by security becuase he didnt have a ticket for the seat. He threw a fit right in front of us. I'm not surprised becuase now I know that Notre Dame culture is one of rudeness and entitlement. It permeates with the McGraws themselves to the fans and down to the players.

And there you have it ladies and gentlemen, from an eye witness that experienced Notre Dame charm and mystique in its most raw and unrefined form. Thanks Paul1969.

I’ve never been in a ND chat room. UConn Nation knows unequivocally that the Irish have no love for Geno or his charges. It pains then greatly to see UConn produce extended win streaks and hoist championship trophies year after year, while they labored in vain to win a NC. The 17 years between championships had to seem like an eternity to them. :)

I would love to read 1-2 of the more “colorful“ comments from some Irish fans. I enjoy good humor. :p
The word for today is “schadenfreude”. The meaning of which I must sheepishly admit to be guilty of embracing with respect to our Irish brethren. :D

Arike reminds me of Grayson Allen for Duke who used trip players as well.

Eventually Coach K bowed to public pressure and suspended him 'indefinitely.'

The publicity this is getting by Muffet not getting out ahead of it by sitting Arike, acknowledging the unsportsmanlike play and apologizing at the time may turn out to be a good thing in that may force Muffet to address the issue with Arike. In any event the next time it happens it is less likely to be ignored by officials or opposing coaches.
It depends where the "next time" happens. ;)

Words fail me.

Did Stewie & Muffet have some kind of a run in somewhere? I don't understand MM's dislike of Stewie.
They did. Stewie was awarded the 2013-14 POY during the 2014 FF (both ND and UConn were undefeated and getting ready to play each other in the NC game the next day). Muffet had been stumping for Kayla McBride for POY. The presentation was made in a small room with basically only the UConn and ND teams present. When Stewie was announced, Muffet sat on her hands and didn’t clap, and her whole team followed suit. The silence was deafening.

I will say that Natalie Achonwa, who was in a leg cast from her recently-torn ACL and was sitiing in a chair Geno had given up for her as she hobbled in late, did indeed applaud.

I have been with the Boneyard for 3 years, and I don't remember a topic that got this much coverage. I hope that MM personally contacted Geno & apologized. I hope that AO personally contacted CD and apologized. If those two acts didn't happen, then I find these ND tweets empty. The sad part about this is that the ND teammates of AO get brushed with the same unsportsmanlike brush.
No way either of those things happened, or will ever happen. Regarding the teammates, so be it. At least one of them deserves it anyway, and the rest chose ND so they get what they get.

One additional point. MM was asked about it and publicly indicated her disappointment that McBride did not win the award.

Her comments set Geno off and he then responded publicly and angrily before the press. It was a year before they buried the hatchet. Now it appears we are at it again.

This reminds me of last year when the press was poor poor ND they only have 5 players, code for hey refs do not call any fouls on them and then look what happens when they actually get called for some fouls. :):)

Yes, I remember that. That was during the period they were engaged in a ahem.... “urinating” contest. Isn't there an old saying about a tiger and his stripes?

Skylar Diggins, wasn’t it?

As I’ve said in the past, a person in the room said McGraw did clap but it was a brief golf clap

!@HUSKYNUT-now this is a post I can agree with. Beating a very good ND team on their very difficult to play on HOME Court is as good as it gets.
*['m sorry for this but Muffet would be foolish to suspend AO unless forced to do so.
AO is about 80 percent of her offense. If she wants to win Muffet has to dance with the girl that brung her, like it or not. If mean one meaningless game, why?

BroadwayVa - I understand your point. I disagree with it. There were 4 incidents with Arike. Two involved Dangerfield, one with Geno and one with Williams. There has also been an incident this season with Arike when ND played Oregon St. A pattern seems to be developing.

As I said, Muffet won't do anything. ND administration and the NCAA won't do anything either. That means they condone the actions that happened. That is sad.

Not true, five people clapping in this picture. Ivey on the left, Lindsay Allen(?) obscured by Muffet head, Whitney Holloway, Michaela Mabrey, and Maddie Cable.

Muffet, her Husband, and Beth Cunningham didn't clap. The rest are either clapping or not in the picture.

Hey are you trying to spoil our urban legend?

OK, so Muffet and Mr. Muffet didn’t clap.

Why did she block Stewie on Twitter through? I mean is that necessary? I remember her speaking on the civility of the rivalry being completely gone well, sweetheart, this is why! Teenage behavior!

I find these responses disturbing that fans look at Arike as a role model despite her blatant disgusting behavior against UCONN. Granted I am sure the team does a lot of community work, but this still bothers me. Any one agree?
