Already had an NIL package agreed to at UConn. Someone saw his bowl performance and tampered him with a bigger offer.Let's find a way to keep him at UConn, like we should with Skyler Bell.

He did. On Dec 21. What a joke.I thought he had recommitted. Thought I'd see that on Storrs Central.
How much you kicking in?Let's find a way to keep him at UConn, like we should with Skyler Bell.
UConn is in a really difficult situation. I am 100% behind Coach Mora and his intentions. However, it's rare that coaches are actually calling out other programs. Calling out any program in the ACC or Big 12 can only hurt UConn. It's almost as if we just have to play ball here. We're not holding any cards here. They got them all so they call the shots. The transfer portal does work both ways after all.
Hmmm, where exactly was Belichick during the game...
How much you kicking in?
Nah. It's more like Belling The Cat. If you're not helping, keep it to yourself.Measuring manhood in inches again?
First guy off the bridge, "This water is cold."
Second guy, "Deep too."
Unfortunately, calling them out publicly is all you can do. There is no one to enforce what passes as rules, and when boosters hiding behind NIL collectives call kids (or their parents or high school coaches), without a lawsuit and subpoenas there is no way to make the schools responsible for the calls anyway.
Bring the suit and take a stand. Something has give.Unfortunately, calling them out publicly is all you can do. I'd be happy if we worked this thing out in the background. If you have leverage (evidence) use it. But don't let it become a distraction or a detriment. We know that regardless of the facts the media will line up and pile on against us. Starting with the entity that simply adores us soooo much.Hate to say it, last time we sued someone over conference realignment, it went poorly for us. Not exactly the same, but you are messing with the “Club”
With Coach on this, just hope it ends well.
hellllll noBring the suit and take a stand.
I just reread your post. You are implying exactly that. Sincerely, Dr. "Patman". UConn PhD 2009.
edit: should I not take your posts at face value and instead opt for tortured logic of half statements and hidden gaps?
Every hill in CT has a headstone cause it looks like you have died on them all.
sadly this is true. Better to isolate the best case. In the end, its going to be on UConn's lawyers and not UConn's football coach to establish what's going on

Saying nothing means you lose, players. This an arm race and he has an underpowered engine due to not being in a power 4 conference. He wants to win and play fair and I have no issue with it at allUConn is in a really difficult situation. I am 100% behind Coach Mora and his intentions. The Yates situation or just in general? Yates blew me away. Naïveté and inexperience on my part. We’ll get over it, but dang.I think Yates just played his last down and his last card with us. Hope he figures his priorities out before his next "commitment". At some point your word should mean something but a system is now in place that's designed to incentivize a bunch of greedy snakes. I didn't want to say anything before the Bowl Game but I saw this coming a mile away. I'm sure many others did too.
How so? I was always under the impression we gained nothing and it made us a pariah of sorts. Interested to hear about it, thanks. That 2003 lawsuit saved UConn's athletic program. We would have been UMass for the last two decades if it had not been filed.
ZooCougar liked your post. Now you know you are wrong. You are the one arguing that college sports is squeaky clean, Sparky. This is possibly the stupidest hill to die on in Boneyard history.
100% agree, either stay or go, but leveraging the program so that you can get a better payday is garbage. Money talks and b@lls*#t walks. The Yates thing rubs me the wrong way. I don’t mind if players decide to leave — but flip-flopping is just in poor taste, in my opinion. Either you want to be here or you don’t; just man up, make a decision, and stick with it.
I’m not talking about players who put their name in the portal and then withdraw it; sometimes the grass isn’t always greener. But stuff like this just feels disrespectful to the coaches, teammates, and fans.
