Jeter won't be going pro anytime soon either.

I think Kentucky has proven (with success too) that they can play 2 centers at once and succeed (remember the WCS, Towns, Lyles lineups?). Bamba may value education, but Kentucky is more of a career oriented choice than educational. Still creates a tough decision, I'm sure.

I don't see room at Duke really once Carter commits, but Kentucky will have PT and is a grand stage for talent. KO will have to face his biggest recruiting challenge for Bamba if he buys in the whole way, which I think he will.

Bamba hasn't shown to be affected by same UConn pull that Diallo gets, but Mo and Diallo are good friends, so maybe Diallo could help recruit him if he ends up at UConn.

Forgot about Jeter. He's another blue-chipper. I agree, the pt at duke seems to be "spoken for" even though the argument could be made that bamba is more versatile than any of their other bigs.

Would love to land Diallo and have him recruit Mo for us. UK has Adebayo, Gabriel (although he's probably more of a 3), Killeya-Jones, Willis, Humphries and Wynyard. Have to imagine Adebayo is gone after this year and Bamba would get his burn above those other guys, so yeah, UK as usual has a great pitch esp as far as PT is concerned.

How do you figure? Giles is likely gone, sure. Bolden and DeLaurier might not be 1 and dones. Carter is a center. They have a few other guys that look more like projects rather than immediate contributors. My biased view is that the path to playing time is clearer with us. I would say there is 0 chance he doesn't start as a freshman with us.

Delaurier and Carter are both 6-8, 6-9 power forwards. Bamba is a 7-0 center. Bolden might still be there, but probably not, and Jeter is not very good.

Richards looks to be UK #1 target for center.

Nope. No mention of Harvard either. Just Texas and Duke.

He essentially qualified his statement saying he didn't know but, he thought Texas was in the best shape, then he DID 100% in fact mention UConn as being there with a third school I'm blanking on because I was so pleased he mentioned UConn as 1 of 3 primary schools of interest I drowned out the name with my outburst. It wasn't Harvard, might have been Duke, but he soon went on to say the longer it goes the more these schools who don't always get 5 star players, cringe that Kentucky or Duke might get more involved so that makes me think that Duke wasn't the 3rd.

I watched the announcement live on a stream, but ESPNU in an earlier segment had a significant interview with 'Megatron', Meghan Walker, our new Women Husky ranked #1 in 2017 who committed tonight at 6pm over Notre Dame & Texas. Think Maya Moore impact added to a team that was already a likely juggernaut.

My bad, must have blanked out on that. Thanks for cleaning that up!

Taped and ReListened to ESPNU Recruiting Nation show replay at 3am 48min into show to be accurate

Finklestein said Bamba's recruiting would be considered open, if he had to pick a favorite it would be Texas based on an official visit to Texas a couple weeks ago that by all reports went well, but that UConn and Michigan were also involved. That these programs dread Duke, Kentucky, or Kansas deciding to make a late push.

Which USA team coach made a bigger impact on Mo...KO or Shaka?

You would hope that Richards to UK puts them at a disadvantage but never count out the Squid. His recruitment has been kept very tight to the vest but hopefully KO & Co. are still involved

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Is it over when a recruit schedules four of his five official visits?
Germans bombed London. The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.
