What are we trying to prove in Paris?
What are we trying to prove in Paris?
Again?“We’re going to change the way Americans look at soccer”
Sure it's for a medal and all, but the tournament isn't serious if countries can't send their best. FIFA gutted it to protect the WC. Qualifying is more important than winning it with a u23 B squad + washed up center backs
It's good to get the younger guys some tournament games/experience. Last time we were in the Olympics, we got quite a few guys from there to the full NT.What are we trying to prove in Paris?
We won both bronze and silver in 1900First time advancing in 25 years, nice. If they can squeak out a medal, it would be our first for the mens side.
Probably a little of both. They had a hard time starting up the World Cup also. Not too many European nations were interested. We won both bronze and silver in 1900
Only 3 teams entered two from the US so it’s not much of an accomplishment but i think competition rather than winning was the original objective. .
Im trying to figure out why only 3 teams
was it because it was strictly amateurs or lack of interest .
Correcttion That was 1904 not 1900 and it was in St Louis who had the games and the world fairProbably a little of both. They had a hard time starting up the World Cup also. Not too many European nations were interested.
Any progress on the coaching front?
I'd love the Tottenham Pochettino as the skipper. The latest seems to be that Pochettino is the focus.
