i mean the constant rescheduling does look very weird. it's not out of the question that programs see this as unprofessional.

He’s been marketing UConn clothes holding his brand new newborn, in the hospital. Weird would be an understatement.

If you look at the way Hurley builds a roster, he disagrees. Roughly speaking, Dan Hurley likes to bring in one, maybe two, five star studs, two or three developmental players and top it off with an experienced portal player or two.

Basically depending on the open scholarships he will break up the incoming class along the lines of the above. Plus, from a culture perspective, he looks for players that come from a solid family, not too many hangers on or a posse. He also highly values players that will sacrifice for the team.

Yes to what he values, all true, but I don’t think Hurley has a number limit on 5 stars he’d bring in. He has a culture limit. If he could bring in 13 5 star kids with the attitude of Steph Castle he would do it.

We would all be ecstatic to have him - protective mechanism of some fans called the emotional hedge.

This is like the hot girl who you’re trying to get to go on date with you. When you can’t get it you take the nice girl out and say I didn’t want her anyway ;).

If Lewis is ready to commit here, then I want him. He’s a quality player and most guys take the bird in hand approach over the two in the bush with all else being fairly close.

Hopefully he is as wrong as he was with his sources saying UConn to the Big 12 was imminent.

Not only a lock, but "imminent."

He seems like someone who wanted to build a "Locked on" channel and chose UConn as being the most valuable unclaimed brand out there. It doesn't seem like he has any real understanding other than reading the Twitter tea leaves. I do give him credit for breaking this summer's big 12 story, even though I believe that his breaking it hurt us.

I don't watch his podcasts. I suggest others do not as well. Anyone connected with UConn in any way, should avoid him and hopefully he goes away eventually.

The free market generally has a way of correcting things. If a media person is wrong enough, people hopefully will tend to tune them out and not share their opinion. It forces them to develop better sources and grind harder to be accurate. You’d think and hope that he’d cut off the source that provided that Big 12 information.
 
typically journos cross check and evaluate sources against background knowledge to see if it makes sense. he has neither the knowledge nor multiple sources, but is seen as an outlet for people to leak rumors.

so basically a source of gossip from potential insiders who themselves may not have full grasp of the entire dynamic. his lack of a filter kind of helps in locating where the rumor comes from.
