Magic declares Caitlin Clarke 2nd to Diana

Well said, Bone Dog. I'd have Stewie and Maya both ahead of Diana, and a few others from schools we shouldn't mention here who'd be right there with DT.

You're kidding, right, Hoops? I've watched Caitlin play more aggressive and more effective defense consistently this year than I ever saw from DT, who played defense only when the spirit occasionally moved her.

Okay, mhshuskies, please name me 10 current or former Huskies who are or were better in college than Caitlin Clark is now.

IMO, this is one of the major misconceptions/myths in UConn WCBB history. Unquestionably, DT was, along with Geno's coaching, a primary reason the Huskies won those last two titles. However, to call her teammates 'mediocre at best' is both embarrassingly disparaging to those ex-Huskies but also dead wrong. DT had fine teammates, up to and including those Final Fours. Sadly for those two teams, they shrink in retrospect in comparison to the great teams immediately preceding.

Agreed, two years ago... and, hopefully, during the '23-24 season. For '21-22 and '22-23, Caitlin has gone above and beyond the level they both played at as freshmen.
D, Stewie, Maya, Tina, Svet, Lobo, Paige, Sue,

I know a lot of UCONN fans won't like to read this but Chamique Holdsclaw & Tamika Catchings were probably on the top 10 list ever, not to name CP
Holdsclaw IMO is the clear cut best Lady Vol and has a case for best ever. Honestly though, anyone in the top 5-6 has a pretty solid case depending on what you value.

Effectively, VanderDloot or Whalen never won an NCAA chzmpionship, but how could you let them as ones of the greatest, same for McCoughtry, and the list can go and go

I thought those 3 were all clearly outshine by others while in college so it’s hard to argue they’re in the conversation for best of all time. Taurasi was the same graduating year as Whalen and she pretty cut and dry had a better career than Whalen. Same with Moore/Vandersloot. And Moore consistently outplayed McCoughtry head to head and always won, and that was when Maya was just a freshman and sophomore.

Take a good, long look at CC’s WCBB stats—each game, each year. Look at the cast assembled on her teams. Consider that every team knows what’s coming. Watch her play.

Now…image she’s wearing a UConn uniform throughout her college career and presently stands poised to carry her team past an undefeated SC powerhouse and into the finals, with a chance at a national title. Then tell me you wouldn’t be making a case that she’s at least in the conversation as GOAT.

You can be second post/by/post in college and second in the world, that makes you a world class player

I don't think you have a case for being the best if someone is cut and dry better than you which was the case for the 3 players mentioned. If you said, "one of the best" or "world class" that's different that definitively being the best.

They were not the best, evene Courtney VDS who i think is the best now, was behind Sue & Lindsey much of her career

EuroLeague to myadvice is a better competition than the W, european advice for sure, but sincere

In Euroleaue there's more players coming from all aword the worls, even if a lot come from the US, but how many of the great players in the W come from from outside North America ?

Caitlin Clark so far in her collegiate career: 2,646 points (needs 16 more to break 1,000 for the season), 334 3FG, 86% FT, and 782 assists while playing 27 minutes per game. She's got one final four and now one NPOY award under her belt. People can try to down play her accomplishments as much as they want, but those are insane numbers, and she's the focal point of defenses while playing in a power conference.

I still can't understand wy Sandrine Gruda or Ann Waters didn't hahe better carrers in your league
I hope Marinne Johannes will have
And that Alexia Chartereau will have a chance
But I don't Strut it a lot

A kid like Juste Josyte should be number 1 in the rankings

You just care about your nation, not about basketball

She would have to win 3-4 titles at UConn to be in the conversation let’s be real. Simply getting to the final four isn’t enough.

After watching Caitlin Clark have a 41 point triple double the other night Magic Johnson said that C.C. was the second best player in the history of WCBB behind Diana Taurasi..pretty high praise for DT coming from Magic
Please don't leave Olivia Miles out of this discussion...she's unstoppable, has moves like Maravich, passes like CC and Paige, sees the floor, a team player just beginning her career.

In my Opinion, jus 2 Players can ivalise with DT for GOAT of WCBB, Maya & Brenna

No one is denying she’s a great player. No one wants to anoint her as the GOAT either.

Best shooter, okay but best player in history? I think she needs to have a history first but she is really good. She is a great passer, she does a good job on the boards but she needs to do the same thing when she is playing against a team of the best players in the world. I also have a tough time comparing people who played 15-20 years apart. The rules are different, the strength and conditioning is better and the overall team talent is better. Bit if DT had those things she would still be amazing maybe even better than she was then.

It's amazing to me that because of 2 years of injuries the "talking suits" forget how Paige Bueckers completely dominated WCBB as a freshman, pre-injuries! They don't even mention her in any conversation about the best in WCBB right now!
Granted she's been hurt but that shouldn't take away what she's capable of when healthy!
And last year when she came back not 100%, she led UCONN to the Finals of the NCAA Tournament!

Because if you want to be in that conversation at some point you have to put up the numbers, and being able to stay on the court is part of that. There are probably lots of Paiges in the history of sports - players with unbelievable talent but because of injuries never realized their full potential and thus we never even knew their names let alone saw them ascend to GOAT status.
