You've reminded me to remind everyone -- you can get a sheet similar to this on any of the players using the per-40 workbook (downloadable from here). Just double-click on any stat of the player of interest in the top grid on the Per-40 sheet and the game detail grid will pop up on a new sheet. For some reason, it's not in date order, but you can sort it. There is no Total line, but you'll find that on the Per-40 sheet.

Chica was sensational tonight against a team noted for physicality and instructed to stop her.

Her cumulative 21-game stats: .506/.500/.900. That's 51/50/90.

Garzon of Indiana was at .500 before tonight and shot 4-9, dipping slightly below .500. Maxwell of Gonzaga was at .5175 before tonight. After a 1-5 outing, she's at .504. Lou is 2nd in the nation and one good game away from leading.

Well that's embarrassing. As they say garbage in, garbage out.
Thanks for the correction.

Ninety percent from the line? Did that rascal miss another free throw? The horror!

Sadly, she had a 3-5 game, followed by a 2-2 game.

BTW, Maxwell for Gonzaga shot 6-9 from the arc today, so she increased the gap between herself and Lou. I hope Lou matches that tomorrow.

There are some gaudy numbers out there. I'm also interested in assists/game. Nine seems like a good number (Nika).

Chica had a really tough day today and even forced some shots. But her season numbers are still outstanding: .489/.487/.905. Both Maxwell of Gonzaga and Garzon of Indiana had big games this weekend, so Lou lost some ground to the nation's leaders. I look for her to bounce back.

She’s getting beat up pretty bad. She’s the number one option and everyone knows it. I thought we’d try more inside to help her, but I guess that didn’t go as planned. Geno said they were working on set plays more today.

In watching the game today, I came to the conclusion that Lou-Lopez should not have been on the court. She should have been in a pinball machine, the way she got bounced around.
Yeah, you could tell they were doing anything they could to not let her get a clean shot off.

My basketball playing days where long ago but we had a great shooting guard and instead of simple picks, when he got mugged, we ran a double pick. Candidly, after the defender got hit by two sets of hips, he typically slowed down. The objective was to not only get the shooter free, but to enact some pain on the defender that was mugging our guard.

She had 46.7/50/80 today

overall 48.4/47.5/89.8

Thanks for the update, Nan! I didn't post after the prior game or two, because Lou's shooting was off a little. I totally agree with Geno, the opponents are no longer playing basketball when they defend her. It's a public mugging that the officials somehow allow. Despite the mugging, Lou had 3 of the best moves today: (1) the buzzer-beater 3-pointer; (2) the drive left; and (3) the hesitation move on the right side. Geno has described Lou as a "pro." Those were pro moves. I love Chica!

Geno says Lou is getting banged and bruised without fouls being called. Time for a UCONN to lay down the law early on in games like CD2 would do.

It's all to Lou's benefit that she's getting bounced around, and then figuring out what she has to do to get shots off. That's what she's going to run into in the WNBA, and she is certainly showing people that she can get it done. 3 point shooters are a dime-a-dozen; scorers who can get it done many different ways are sought after. She is much more than a 3 point shooter. And she showed great toughness as the game went on yesterday.

As Nan noted, Lou is at .484/.475/.898. For those who have forgotten, the original Lou (KLS) led the nation with .475 from the arc in one season. The current Lou has the same .475 and is now 5th in the nation. The leader remains Brynna Maxwell of Gonzaga at .522.

In other stats:

Nika leads the nation with 8.6 apg, but Caitlin Clark is closing the gap, at 8.2 apg.

In team stats:

UConn leads the nation in FG % at .520. Both Iowa and Indiana are over .500.

UConn is 4th in the nation in 3-point percentage at .402. Gonzaga leads at .418.

If Azzi comes back soon, I see a boost in our shooting percentages. She is the ultimate shotmaker.
