Lou out of the AAC tournament

Andra Espinoza-Hunter didn't play much today. If only she had been patient. She'd be starting for UConn, which would have given the Huskies Christyn and Olivia off the bench.
Did not play because she was not good. 0 for 4 from 3pt and 3 quick TO. If she is not hitting 3's, she offers little else.

And what is the big deal if we suffer a defeat?
Because our team is great enough to be NCs, we will get there no matter what seed we get, who we have to play or where. And Lou will be there alongside her teammates.

Why is this in a thread about the Great LOU????

IIRC UCONN plays winner of ECU vs SMU... just watched a little... it's a sad game, mid 3rd quarter and ECU leads 30ish to 18...

Ok all you "I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night" seers, when I said it was not wise for her to take a bus to the airport, fly for 2+ hours, take more buses, sleep in a hotel, sit on a small crappy chair watching a game, I was told to relax. KLS would have been better to stay home and not put added stress on her muscles. Don't give me the BS that "she needed to be there to support her team when they have more games to be played. This news is very disheartening.
So rather than expressing sympathy for a fine young woman who has given her all for UConn, you want us to lament the "disrespect" you have suffered at the hands of those whose opinions differ from yours? Let us worry about Katie Lou and the team. You just revel in self pity!

Everyone is picking on me which is fine I’m a big boy can take anything that comes my way.. people get defensive when they can’t handle the truth and accept the truth. Denial doesn’t get u anywhere. I’m speaking the truth and seem to be the only one who has the guts to speak it.
Is this speech from "A few Good Men"? Seems vaguely familiar. Are you Jack Nicholson? Oh wow! ;)

Spot on. AEH is on the court to stretch the floor so teams can’t double McGowan. If she’s not hitting from outside, MS St has other players who are tougher defenders and have ability to attack the basket.

Well I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express once, so I know anything I post is 100% accurate and the truth.
The OP is fake news.
So there.

Sounds like Geno fully expects her to be ready for the NCAA tournament. Even sounds like she could have played this weekend but “it didn’t make sense”.
I said this, while I’m sure the aac tournament is necessary for them to win, they are already in the ncaa tournament, there’s no need in playing her right now, when you can rest her for the tournament that absolutely matters, which is the NCAA tournament

Okay I'm ready for the slings and arrows. Let me be the first to speculate on the extent of Lou's injury.

She hurt her back and it still hurts. It may still hurt even if she returns before the tournament begins. She may have to play with some discomfort during the tournament. There. I said it.
Slings are sometimes helpful in injury treatment. Arrows, not so much.

I totally agree with you and said the same thing earlier in the week, only to hear how important it was for her to be there. I hope this is all precautionary. They will not get by the elite eight in Albany without her.

And you know that this aggravated her condition how?

They looked it up on WebMD:rolleyes:

Actually, no medical training or cheap hotel stays required
It's beneath common sense...more like
Duh!!!

Not much can be said. Olivia and Mikayla have to step it up. So does Kyla.

Yes in deed, BIG TIME!!! ONO is not a freshman anymore. She's got 30 or so games under her belt. That pushes her into "sophomore" status. The biggest question that comes to mind for me is can UConn beat UCF without Lou? THAT is who they will meet in the conference finals. I know they struggled against USF on the road last week without Lou. The Huskies shot 37.7% from the field. A low shooting percentage always makes for a close game. I don't think they shoot that poorly in any game this weekend.

I know I’ve thrown this mild disagreement your way previously, but I think UCF is vulnerable vs either USF or Cincy.

The only way UCF plays USF is if USF beats us in the semis. (assuming that USF beats Houston
in the quarterfinals)

Houston, UCF, USF & Cincy are all listed on the same side of the bracket.

The bracket I'm looking at (from the official AAC website) has UCF playing the Wichita/Tulsa
winner in the quarterfinals, and the winner of Cincy v Temple/Memphis winner in the semis.

USF is on the other side of the bracket playing Houston in the quarterfinals.

No. Arrows are what acupuncturists use.

We Boneyarders are so fortunate that our forum is populated by courageous posters. Here’s my contribution: whether Lou , as I expect, is merely (and wisely) being rested for the Big Dance, or if she’s effectively out for the season, UConn may or may not win NC #12 this year. Next year, after she graduates, our favorite team may or may not win more National Championships. There, timid souls. That’s the TRUTH. THE TRUTH HURTS... but at least one of us had “the guts” to say it!!

It's true that the AAC tournament and the NCAA seeding just got a lot more interesting (and problematic). That being said, you have to dance with the date you brought. New Husky legends could be made this weekend. Or, we could all be disappointed.

Regardless of what happens, I am sure the players will give their all. The chips will fall where they may. I had best stop this post before I earn the wrath of the cliche police....

I just hope they are using every possible diagnostic test to get her healthy as soon as possible. I recommend:

I see the Boneyard is about to go off the rails!!! And it only took about 20 minutes.

Distressing news of this nature usually will cause a "knee jerk" reaction. Most of us don't take this type of news tongue in cheek.
This also means that neither Crystal nor Pheesa can get hurt or in foul trouble this weekend.

I know I’ve thrown this mild disagreement your way previously, but I think UCF is vulnerable vs either USF or Cincy.

UCF only lost 3 conference games. Twice to UConn, and once to Tulane 61-59. Besides UConn, I think UCF is the team to beat. AAC teams know they have a better chance of beating them than UConn.

UConn just had a couple of teeth pulled with Samuelson being out. Their "bite" may not be as vicious now as it was earlier in the season. Is this where UConn's string of consecutive wins the the AAC comes to an end? I don't think so.
