The young lady played at Fairfield University, and not a major D1 program for a reason. I’ll leave it at that.
That is really an unnecessary statement. She was a 3 time all conference in that league and POY last year. Showed she could put up efficient offensive numbers even against D1 competition. She probably fits in fine and can contribute. Let's give the kid a chance. She played in Europe in Ireland for God's sake. It's not like it was a huge recruiting location for US colleges. I think she played out of position out of necessity at Fairfield. She looks like she can be part of the rotation.

I guess I have to say this again. Christyn & Evina averaged 61 mpg. Plenty of PT to go around. Everybody Eats!!!
that was last season, this season more minutes were expected of Caroline and possibly Muhl. Now 1 of those 2 will lose minutes

Guessing she'll average 2-3 points a game off the bench in garbage minutes since Geno is only comfortable playing top 5 recruits. Oh well.

Milford, I do believe that you were the very first BY’er to raise the prospect of Lou2 transferring to UConn way back at the end of March. Kudos for your prescient observation.
Imagine a Sports Blog where someone uses “prescient” in a sentence! Teachers everywhere are rejoicing.

First welcome to the new Lou !!!! May you enjoy what it means to bleed Husky Blue and your new family too!

No matter how it is put, IMO Dorka needs help. UConn is a bit too guard heavy.
No attack but you mentioned this twice and I some what agree but I very much think you should mention Aaliyah in that statement also.
We have Amari whom we all hope can fill a role of more minutes along with new comers. Their minutes and ability to be determined once on the practice floor.
Again I liked your thoughts but it must be considered on what is available in the portal. Is there a player available that is a fit like Dorka was last year? Would need to see the list but would imagine there are very few choices in the portal for UConn. Keep in mind Geno's criteria, it's not his style to just plug a hole.
He not long ago passed up the two time Gatorade player of the year in CT, never made an offer. She was not a fit for his program to many a fans dismay. His decision proved to be right, bottom line in Geno we must trust. ;)

Additionally, we lost Piath as well, so one more transfer is possible....
That's true. There is an opening at the 5 for UConn that no one has stepped up to claim yet. I would prefer a player at least 6’5” to replace Piath. Preferably one with at least 2 years of D1 level experience (at least 60 games ). No projects please.

I would say stockpiling for injuries. You did follow this past year?

He brought in a good guard from a sort of mid major conference, I'm sure Caroline feels just fine.

It's not like he brought in one of the big name wings in the portal.
I think this is all rather simple, and there is nothing for Caroline to be worried about. As of now, she is the projected starter at the 3 position, with Aubrey behind her. That order could flip based on how they both perform in preseason practices.

At the PG position, Geno has Paige backed up by Nika. At the shooting guard position, he has Azzi backed up by LLS.

Everybody eats, and everyone is needed. There is no "stockpiling" here.

4.6 RPG, pretty good for a guard, placing her only behind the 3 Uconn bigs last year.
Yes, it is. But, how soon folks forget that SC outrebounded UCONN...49-24. I hope there's a solution on the way. You can't shoot that type of deficit away even if you were the GS Warriors.

And how soon other folks forget that Liv played injured, Dorka didn't play at all and Azzi was sick as a dog. If those 3 things didn't happen I have a hunch that margin wouldn't have been so dire. This thread is about getting a nice Grad transfer to play for us, no need to turn it into a negative.

I like her shot. I hope she can set good screens. I think a problem we had when tried to go small in recent seasons was that the off ball action screening by some guards was not good enough to force defenders to be out of position and leave a shooter or cutter open.

Yes Liv was vastly under-rated for the passes she made and the screens she set .. in Liv's first WNBA game, she had 5 assists, 12 rebounds and set countless screens besides a coupla blocks and 15 points!

I asked could she rebound. Wrong thread? Rebounding wasn't a one game problem. Just being realistic...not negative. 49-34 would have been dire too...so anyone who can rebound is a plus.

I think she can and will be helpful for us on offense because she is a better three point shooter then we had at the wing last year. She shoots better than CW, EW, and Caroline Ducharme. She, as others have pointed out has good elevation on her shot and has a high release point. In our offense she will be able to get shots off on screens and as we can see on film she knows how to backdoor cut. My only question will she learn our switching man to man defense and be quick enough. She had to play inside on Fairfield's zone and she did not look as good as Walker and Evina did when they were tasked to do so. I think she will bring the right attitude and will work hard. That is good enough for me. Good luck Louuuuuuuuuu2
