Remember, we lost two guards--CW averaged as many minutes as anyone. Those will have to be replaced, along with EW's, which was fairly considerable...
That is true, but it is not as simple as a new player getting the CW and EW minutes. Many of those minutes will be taken by our best returning guards, namely Paige and Azzi. Assuming they don't miss 19 and 11 games respectively next year, they will play many more minutes than last year. In Azzi's case it is also likely she will not only play more games but also average more minutes per game than last year as a probable starter from game 1.

I guess I have to say this again. Christyn & Evina averaged 61 mpg. Plenty of PT to go around. Everybody Eats!!!

It is necessary to do so, Olddude, because folks are bringing up what minutes Paige and Azzi will need, when those two almost played a full 40 minutes each game--how could they possibly play more?. Yes 61 minutes of PT is plentiful...

This whole thing about minutes is wasted energy. At this point, no one has any idea if or how she fits into the scheme. Add to this, players like Caroline and Aubrey may show increased value. We just don’t know what she will bring to this team or what her role will be. She’s a Husky now so, I will root for her to excel.

From a team perspective, my feelings are that we had the second best team in the country before this move. I think we still have the second best team in the country. Maybe a bit better but I’m looking forward to the next player beamed in from the portal who could help where help is needed.

Nice addition Adds experienced depth coming off the bench. She averaged 4.6 Rebounds while averaging 34 minutes per game. Lou did average 40% for the season in shooting 3 point shots.

UConn still needs a quick play making guard that can also be a shut down defender and could use more rebounding help.
UConn does not need any more guards for this season and Arnold is coming in in 2023.

You are talking from the perspective of just minutes per game. I am bringing up the point from the perspective of minutes played total next season vs. the last one. How can Paige and Azzi play more minutes? Simple don't miss 19 and 11 games respectively. In terms of minutes played this last season Paige was 9th on the team.

Here are the minutes played for the season.

1. CW 1,116
2. EW 990
3. AE 898
4. ONO 896
5. Nika 717
6. Azzi 700
7. Caroline 648
8. Dorka 635
9. Paige 496

So it is true that CW and EW are leaving a-lot of minutes to be consumed by someone, no dispute there, and I firmly believe that with 5 instead of 6 guards everybody will eat, but of the 2,106 minutes that are gone, much of that will be consumed by Paige presumably being healthy.

If Paige is healthy she could easily play 600 more minutes next year than last year, probably being first in minutes not 9th. Azzi could play another 300-400 minutes by not missing so many games, and by playing more minutes per game as a starter for the whole season. If Caroline starts (probable in my opinion but far from certain) she could play another 300-400 minutes as well. All that assumes only missing a couple of games, but at least for Paige and Azzi missing fewer than 19 and 11 is very very likely.

So does that leave some minutes for Lou? of course everyone will eat, with 6 guards maybe one sits in some games but with 5 I think there is a role for everyone. Going back to the minutes per game approach (assuming everyone is available) I presume we could put Paige down for 35 or so, and Azzi for at least 30. That takes up 65 minutes of the 120 for the 1,2, and 3 positions, leaving 55 to be split between Caroline, Nika, and Lou. I suspect may get more of those than the other two but both should be regulars in the rotation IMO.

I Hear you, but what if two of guards get hurt like last year. Then it would leave us with one guard. Geno does not want to go through what happened this year.

She certainly played a good game of poker at the beginning. Glad to have her join the backcourt.
