OT: Link to Schedule for Aaliyah Edwards, U23 Canadian National Team "GlobLJam" July 2022

She's having a pretty impressive (and fun filled) summer I'd say. So far our girls are doing pretty good in summer games. Isuneh "Ice" Brady had very successful (championship) run with the USA U18 women's national team earlier this summer in the FIBA Americas tournament mid June in Buenos Aires.

Edwards was named tournament MVP for her stellar play throughout.

“She’s been a real anchor for us on both ends of the floor,” Team Canada head coach Carly Clarke said. “She made some timely baskets again today and often had the job of keying in on one of the opponent’s top players and defending them. She cleaned up the boards, defended and her effort never wavers. Pretty special performance.

All this after playing 5 games in 6 days and, I imagine, being the focus of the opponent’s defense. It’s harder on a big girl than a guard, more weight to move and more physical play in the paint.

Ignore the cranky pants perfectionists, Aaliyah, you made this Husky fan proud!
