The irony is that there's a pancake house across the street from the arena. It's totally possibleDid Aaliyah eat a stack of Belgian Waffles today ? Just ate them alive.Value Index=31

Please do!! Your efforts in this matter are truly appreciated. It was an impressive performance. It's the style of play UConn fans are hoping to see next season in my opinion. I would recommend keeping an eye out on Sportsnets' site for highlights. I'll do my best to update when I see them too.

No Aaliyah must know how a UConn Junior must play, so it has begun.Aaliyah must have seen Ice Brady's performance. Challenge accepted.![]()
I saw the game and Aaliyha was just as impressive as the stats suggest. The best I've seen her yet. Great defense, solid scoring, relentless energy and contributed everywhere. Canada could easily have lost this game without her.
Wowza! Bring that stuff back home, Aaliyah. Field goal % of 77% (7-9) will keep the nattering nabobs of negativity stifled (one can hope, anyway)![]()

Watching France vs Belgium. France up by 21 points in the 4th. Belgium is dealing with a shorter turnaround, having played in the evening, but the point differential compared to the game last night is a little shocking.
I agree with the assessment, and the importance of fitness for Aaliyah. She was not the same player last year, even at the tail end of the season, where she was better than early in the season, but still nowhere near her freshmen year. It appears from the physical look and early results she is moving towards the freshmen version of Aaliyah not last year's, which by itself could result in a major improvement for the team. One of the things I am always keenly interested in for any UConn player from one season to the next is how they look physically. Basically, are they fitter and stronger?
Aaliyah has dramatically improved her overall fitness level. From the video excerpts it’s clear that Aaliyah is leaner, stronger, quicker and runs the court better. One more reason to be really, really, really excited about the upcoming season at UConn.

I was in the wait and see camp as to which version we would get this year, hoping she would recapture freshmen Aaliyah conditioning and performance, but certainly not considering that a given because of what happened last year. This is obviously a very encouraging sign.
In all honesty, I will be disappointed if Aaliyah is no better than she was as a freshman. IMO Aaliyah’s fitness level will far exceed that of her freshman season. She should be able to play longer, harder and with far greater effectiveness than ever before.I agree with the assessment, and the importance of fitness for Aaliyah. That phrase was made popular by then U.S. vice-president Spiro T Agnew.Love this.................I'll be using this a lot![]()
It remains to be seen, but... IMO, Canada's opposition will be France. the French
ladies had 35 bench points i.e., less tired, more bench strength? for tomorrow's game
), France also had
18 fast break points and caused 34 (!!) Belgium turnovers. Belgium might have
had the short turnaround time mentioned in the earlier post but the Belgium team was more
competitive against Canada than against the French.
Canada hopefully can handle Virginia Commonwealth easily. Aaliyah and
the other starters will then get some extra rest (as well as the Canada bench getting some important
playing time). So .. will the physicality of Aaliyah (and other Canadians) and the strong
PG play of Day-Wilson (Duke) be enough? Remember only 5 of Canada's players scored in
the first game!! Seven players with ZERO points. Many things to think about in this
evenings game against USA's VCU. I would love to see a low scoring Canada/Aaliyah if
it helps Canada's chances against France tomorrow. Different opinions?? Z
